Thats what I said in another thread, ND was playing for the playoffs in the third quarter and I think with this effort, we can say they're out. Yeah if this was even like a 14 point game I think they would be a no brainer if they were highly competitive. They played themselves out tonight.
NateDawg
This is all fun and games until the committee decides to match Ohio State up against Alabama in the first round because they don’t want Texas A&M to rematch Alabama, bumping the Aggies up to the 3-seed. INbengalfan
Skalski standing over the ND receiver barking while he laid there (after the targeting) seems more egregious to me than the hit to the head

A&M played a poor schedule (outside of Alabama and Florida), Notre Dame looks legitimately awful tonight, Cincinnati isn't in a P5 conference, and Oklahoma is a two-loss team. Whoever is the 4th team is just a weak 4 and a default pick. A&M has beaten trash teams and that’s it. Notre Dame has this performance. If they could have at least been competitive, they would have been an easy pick. No I just think they’re making it easy on the committee to pick someone else and think the Aggies likely make it over them. I don’t think Texas A&M is a strong choice, but I also don’t think I could choose a team to make the playoffs when they perform like this in a play-in game. Ty21
Notre Dame wouldn’t have had this problem if we’d just joined the Big10. Ooh, let’s join the ACC with Clemson; that sounds great.

ND has no shot at imo. If this game had been close, everybody would've wanted a rubber match but they barely showed up.

Yeah, I agree that Notre Dame should not have a shot, which makes it weird listening to these announcers talking about how they still think they are a shoe-in.

pf9
We are WAY overdue for a playoff WITHOUT Clemson As long as Trevor Lawrence is there, there is way too much disparity between Clemson and the rest of the ACC. The ACC schools scheduled to face Clemson next year need to make it known that they will refuse to play them if Lawrence stays for his senior season. This would all but force him to declare for the NFL Draft.
