blue div also pushing their way to the top of the divisions list for the first time since early in the season. Their teams feel less top heavy, but there are no outright bad teams. And their collective defenses far outpace the rest of the league

Cheesy conference

  1. >99% 8-3 Rio de Janeiro Pirates
  2. >99% 8-3 Reykjavík Direwolves
  3. 98% 7-4 Norway Knights
  4. 60% 6-5 Hanoi Viet Kongs
  5. 25% 6-5 Anchorage Moose
  6. 15% 5-6 Tacoma Thunder
  7. 2% 4-6-1 South Africa Woolly Mammoths
  8. <1% 4-7 Chicago Fire
  9. <1% 4-7 Little Rock Uni Royals
  10. <1% 3-8 Lancaster Fighting Amish

2 of the 3 teams at the top lost, but it doesn't matter to the model. Even with Norway's 1 game gap over 5th, the Moose/Kongs are yet to play, which essentially makes it a 2 game lead with 5 left. Thunder re-enter the chat with a win and a Kongs loss. Poor Fire have had a reasonably strong season, but close losses finally push them out of the picture

Salsa conference

  1. >99% 9-2 Freiburg Venom
  2. 88% 7-4 Scranton Papermakers
  3. 72% 6-5 Rocket City Trash Pandas
  4. 64% 6-5 Phoenix Rattlers
  5. 43% 6-5 Richmond Flying Squirrels
  6. 14% 5-5-1 Antarctica Penguin Poppers
  7. 13% 5-6 Miami Sharks
  8. 6% 5-6 Egypt Starfall
  9. <1% 3-8 Pittsburgh Punishers
  10. <1% 2-9 Indianapolis Predators

Salsa continues to be fascinating. Scranton makes a move to the top of the bubble, and Phoenix makes a big upward move! Antarctica and Miami re-enter the bottom portion of the bubble, but I think it will be difficult for them to leap frog. Rocket City and Phoenix have relatively easy schedules in the final quarter of the season, and both have beaten Richmond H2H. Week 14 between Phoenix and Richmond will be huge. While I don't think Salsa is as "good" as cheesy - I definitely find it more intriguing in its competitive parity

The week ahead

Royals @ Direwolves - Royals looking to play spoiler again (and ruin their draft chances). Direwolves desperately need to right the ship at home after back to back losses.

Amish @ Knights - See above, should be an obvious result, but upsets can happen.

Squirrels @ Moose - Massive game for both teams. Both are sitting right on the bubble in their conferences at 6-5. My money is on the Squirrels on the road, but will put the losing team is a very precarious situation for their playoff chances.

Sharks @ Punishers - With the Sharks win last week, they are still in it. A win here keeps them right in the mix. A 7th loss wouldn't fully eliminate them, but would leave a big list of teams to leapfrog

Predators @ Pirates - 8-3 vs 2-9

Pandas @ Rattlers - GOTW! 6-5 vs 6-5. Winner not only maintains their playoff spot, but gains an incredibly important tiebreaker. Rattles are underwhelming in pwny, but the record is what matters for the playoffs. Critical matchup here

Mammoths @ Venom - Bolivia mud game. Always hate to see a top team playing in a "weird" situation like this, but even a surprise outcome is unlikely to affect the playoff picture. Venom are firmly in the playoffs. Mammoths do give themselves a shot if they win this game

Starfall @ Papermakers - I expected this to be a more important game than it is. Starfalls are essentially out of the mix right now. A win maybe gets them back in the conversation, but its a much bigger deal for the Papermakers. A win for Scranton gives some separation from the pack and fewer opportunities for teams to gain on them.

Thunder @ Fire - Another game I expected to be of bigger consequence. Fire are out, but Thunder have worked their way back in. It's possible they can work their way back into a tie for 4th place with a win and some help. Either way, its a must win

Poppers @ Kongs - Another critical game. Kongs, after upsetting the Direwolves, had a bad loss to the Royals and find themselves back on the bubble. They need to get back on track. Poppers also find themselves in striking distance to the playoff pack, despite their bad pwny. Upsetting the Kongs on the road gets them fully in the mix

I’ll take 6-5 but if I go 6-6 I’m open for business for everyone but Bosa, Aj Brown, and Jefferson. They be my crushes.

Just an FYI the trade deadline is Monday at Noon the day before Week 12 games.
