Hardest strength of schedule would be #1 technically until more games are played. Maybe us with Pitt & NO & Det played
CriminalMind
If Vikings beat Rams, and Dallas beats Philly... I think Vikings go to #1. Strength of win and strength of schedule should favour Vikings with Rams at 7-3 added

swede700
If the Vikings had beat the Lions, they would be the #1 seed over the Eagles, as the tiebreaker that would have come into play is strength of victory (as they don't have 4 common opponents)...the combined total record of Vikings' opponents that they would have beat (including Detroit, who would be 4-5 instead of 5-4) would be 30-42. The Eagles' opponents' record is 27-47. The Eagles have been dragged down by having wins against the Giants and 49ers, while the Vikings only get dragged down by the Browns. vike daddy
The reality of the 2017 NFC is that the Cinderella stories abound. Not only didn’t any of the four current division leaders make the playoffs in 2016, three of them (Minnesota, New Orleans and Los Angeles) finished third in their division last season and the team with the league’s best record (Philadelphia) finished last. Los Angeles wasn’t the only team that has made a remarkable turnaround. The Vikings lost eight of their last 11 games last season and are riding high in the NFC North. Philadelphia lost seven of its last 10 and New Orleans has finished with a record of 7-9 in each of the previous three seasons, while two teams from its own division have represented the NFC in the Super Bowl the last two years. While it’s still premature to anoint the new top dogs in the NFC to playoff spots, they are going to be difficult to overtake because of the tie-breaker advantages they have already built for themselves. The stretch run to the 2017 season is going to be interesting in that the defending division winners aren’t going to simply roll over and die. They’re going to have to be taken down and taken out by the usurpers of 2017. https://scout.com/nfl/vikings/Article/Minnesota-Vikings-not-only-team-shaking-up-NFC-110521907

In your post you mention Philly and Minny don't have 4 common opponents. Is that a minimum that must played for that tie breaker to be "in play". If so, than that (slightly) reduces the importance of the Vikings at Carolina game, since Philly beat Carolina.

vike daddy
The Saints have won eight in a row, and seemingly hit no speedbumps along the way, but they may have just hit one. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, pass-rusher Alex Okafor suffered a torn Achilles and is lost for the season. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/11/20/saints-pass-rusher-alex-okafor-out-for-season-with-torn-achilles/
