He died after waiting 15 days for a hospital bed. His family blames unvaccinated covid-19 patients.

Anthony Weeks, his son, said that the family believes their vaccinated and boosted father was the latest indirect victim of the pandemic — and that he would have survived his sepsis diagnosis if he was immediately admitted to a larger medical center that had an open bed. Around Halloween, Weeks called his children to let them know he would not be able to attend his granddaughter’s birthday party because he “didn’t feel good,” Owenson said. He had just gotten his booster and flu shots, and his doctor figured he was feeling some side effects. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 3 patients who die in a hospital have sepsis.

They're stupid if they blame this solely on other patients.

How are they stupid? This is one of the issues when people choose to be unvaccinated and then get sick enough to be hospitalized. They have every right to blame these selfish and stupid unvaccinated individuals for what’s happening because it’s reality.

Vaccines do not exist to keep us perfectly healthy. They exist to keep us out of the hospital.

The Johnson & Johnson booster could help cut covid hospitalizations, according to a South African study of over 69,000 health-care workers who received a second dose. The study, which has not been peer reviewed, found that the booster was about 84 percent effective in preventing hospital admissions as the omicron variant spread.

A covid-fighting tool is buried in your phone. Turn it on.

Millions of Americans now have access to free, anonymous coronavirus exposure notifications. Too bad so few people use them.

Sure but they're not the sole reason he died.

No, not the “sole”reason he died if you want to play the semantics game. Just the biggest reason why.

Didn't see it mention any of his health problems that he most likely had but don't know for sure. If he had anything like diabetes or was overweight, sleep apnea, that's more to blame than other patients. Not a huge sample size but the few people I knew that passed away and were vax'd were overweight and had other problems.

any other health problems were the biggest contributing factor and it's not even close.

In case anyone was wondering, the Covid vaccine is safe for children ages 5-11. Now we just need parents to actually get their kids vaccinated.

COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective for children, according to three new studies released Thursday by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

One study, which evaluated the safety reports of more than 42,000 children ages 5 to 11 who received a Pfizer shot, found the side effects from the Pfizer vaccine were mostly mild and temporary. It also found that myocarditis, a heart inflammation side effect that has been associated with the mRNA vaccines in very rare cases, does not appear to be a risk.

A second study, which looked at data from 243 children ages 12 to 17 in Arizona, found the Pfizer vaccine was 92% effective at preventing infection. The study, conducted between July and December when delta was the dominant variant in the U.S., also found that adolescents who developed COVID-19 reported a lower percentage of time masked in school and time masked in the community.

The third study, also conducted when delta was dominant, found that among children ages 5 to 17 hospitalized due to COVID-19, less than 1% were fully vaccinated against the virus.

Currently in the U.S., less than a third of eligible children -- ages 5 to 17 -- have been fully vaccinated.

Fine with this (the first part). Still only really skeptical on the pregnant women studies.
