Shockwave
Whatever makes him play better I'm on board. But as a fan I have not bought a jersey since Eli's rookie season. Between players switching numbers and frequent team turnover I just cannot justify dropping $ on jerseys. Also at 42 years old a part of me thinks it's silly to be wearing another mans name on my back...

I haven’t gotten a jersey since Eli either, I just think the whole numbers situation is interesting.
GMENNATION
Legends or QBs on their second contract only 😂🤣 not worth the money.. Think of all of those OBJ jerseys floating around out there.
Acgott
Would have thought Toney would take a single digit.
y*so*blu
I like it! Always preferred the 80-something jerseys for wide receivers. New jerseys cost a lot (the only one I own is James Bradberry), but I might buy a t-shirt of Toney at least. Less pricey, and a better fit too. Acgott
I was checking our numbers and we don’t have a lot of free ones between 1-19. I think Toney may switch when cuts start.
Shockwave
He's def the kind of gadget type player that needs a single digit number. I hope he gets #1 eventually.

Shockwave
If Dillon doesn't make the 53 Toney should take 6 then.
TakeTheBallDeep
Toney seems like the type of player that fits the role of a single digit player
Gmen
Will echo the sentiment that Toney should 100% be wearing a single digit number. Maybe he is waiting for the final cut down for a number to free up? I wouldn't buy a Toney #89 jersey quite yet.

I think he ultimately ends up taking 17, currently worn by Clayton Thorson, but I think 6 is a possibility as well. It's a shame so many single digit numbers are retired. He should be #1. That's why I like what the Giants are doing with their 'retired' numbers now. Like 10 and 92 are essentially retired, but not officially, so in 50 years if there is some otherworldly DE or QB who comes along who is worthy of that number, they can technically get it. Kind of like what the Cardinals did with 99 and JJ.
Shockwave
Have to admit I had no idea who Ray Flaherty is/was which is sad considering I am reading he was the 1st player ever to have his number retired 😬
