PFF, for example, are very high on Denver's chances of making playoffs and their roster as whole. I'm sorry but if your team has a genuine QB issue, which they have, you're in for a rough time. How often do we see it? Teddy SUCKS Raiders will Raider. Gruden is the highest paid coach and he has a sub .500 record. Long may it continue LAC seem to be on the right track to turn it around. But year after year they flatter to deceive. We will win the division easily. I don't think anyone is picking a team other than us to win the division. I could see Denver making the playoffs as a wildcard, though. It happens often enough, a team on a last place schedule with a talented roster sans QB. Think the Bortles Jaguars, us with Cassel, Trubisky's Bears, etc. I don't think anyone would pick them to actually make any noise with Bridgewater or Lock, But they could hit 10 wins just by beating up on rookie QBs, a couple divisional wins, other last place teams from last year, and the NFC East. BigTrav
Somebody may need to explain Denver to me. Am I underrating them? Ringer NFL has them as second biggest riser, PFF has them borderline top 10, I've seen them in conversations of best defense in league. Some other publications have them right where I do, about 7 wins. Is there some superstar they've picked up that I'm missing or something? mayanfootball
If anyone else from the AFC West is to make the Playoffs besides KC, it will be the Chargers. They've got a dang fine QB, a LT to improve their OL, and a good Defense.

I do hesitate with their weapons, especially if Keenan Allen gets hurt like he seems to every other season. Just no one scares you, but it could be death by a thousand cuts with that Oline being so good.

onejayhawk
It's officially Bridgewater at QB for the Broncos. This has to be disappointing for the franchise, but TB is a solid game manager and his WR make him a bit dangerous. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2021/8/27/22643785/around-the-afc-west-bridgewater-takes-the-reins-in-denver There is a preseason All AFC West team. Predictably, Mahomes, Hill and Kelce are highlighted, plus OBJr and Thuney from the OL. On D we have Jones Mathieu, and Sneed.https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2021-preseason-all-afc-west-team-patrick-mahomes-tyreek-hill-headline-talented-chiefs-heavy-offense/ J Edited August 27, 2021 by onejayhawk
RedGold
I kind of agree with Denver. They have a great OL, Nice weapons. They need to start Javonte over Gordon thought. D is solid all the way around, Fangio is a good coach. He’ll have them in most games just with that defense. Definitely not picking them over us, But I like them 2nd. Chargers never seem to live up to the bill.

They are routinely bottom five and worst in the league three years running. In 2010 the Chargers led the league in yards gained and fewest allowed. They missed the playoffs because of historically awful ST play. J
onejayhawk
Six more bites. Bridgewater we knew about, Raiders acquire Denzel Perryman, the Chargers have another pass rusher to go with Bosahttps://chiefswire.usatoday.com/lists/afc-west-stories-for-chiefs-fans-broncos-chargers-raiders-teddy-bridgewater-khalil-mack/
onejayhawk
Some of these are useful. There isn't much market for a below average QB at this point in the timeline. Denver would just go from having 2 bad QBs to having 3, with one of them not knowing the offense.
onejayhawk
The rumor is that Cam was not picking up the Patriots offense, to the point that Mac Jones was giving him tips on the reads. If a veteran, in his second year in an offense has trouble, it's likely not the offense. The ideal place would be Jacksonville or Chicago, so that they could protect their #1 pick for a few months. J That is not acceptable. Cam is a natural born athlete but it seems like he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Got to be smart to play QB

Got to be smart to play QB Cam always worked on the body aspects, but he never learned to do the mental side, which sets the great above the good. At 30, his body isn't doing what it once did and at this level, he has no skills to fall back on.
