Seems we focused not letting them run wild on the outside. receivers had looked good, seems like we are going to have huge battle for 6th spot. Brown was good as was Turner. Dowdle ran real hard and hit the hole well. Saw good things from Mukuamu and Canady. bad. Brown and Joseph struggled with coverage. Saw a number of missed assignments that left wide open receivers in the middle of the field. 1 by Parsons early, the other by Gifford (who looked bad) and a CB. Our OL has not looked that good in pass blocking Neske especially. Special teams has not shown much improvement. Kicking blaah..and on coverage yikes worse we just gave up a big return on our first punt... now second half back to being beat like a drum on stuff out wide.. Though our receivers have not gotten any separation this half. oops more missed assignments. Some one is supposed to follow that back.. quiller Posted August 6, 2021 Share Posted August 6, 2021 hmm hopefully Cox will be better getting to the edge and shedding the blocker as he learns, did a fair job staying with it and making the tackle but if he had been quicker reacting to the pitch and getting past the end to keep the RB contained. Maybe line up a little wider so you can use your speed and make it harder for the lineman to make the block, it was close to hold as it was. He read the play well realized he had no one to cover adn quickly accelerated to the QB limiting his time to throw. That play by no 24 of pitts is the type of play that I want to see from our defenders. Quickly reacting and making a solid hit limiting the RAC. HE seems to always throw off the back foot. Sure good good arm strength but man even when he has the space he seems to never step into the throw.
