Its about building a team & finding a franchise QB. Long term success & sustained success. I dont care who won it last year, or the previous 50. Kirk will NEVER win one with the Vikings. Thats the point.

You say great move, because your content with being average & in the hunt year to year. Which is ok But you cant keep doing the same thing and expect different results.

What QB of the future are you wanting to draft this year that would do better than Kirk the next two year?

Sure but no reason at all to sign him past this up coming season outside of saving some cap money and gaining something there.

The Vikings are potentially in a rebuild and if they lose or trade Danielle Hunter that defense could totally suck thus are not going to compete at a high level.  Maybe it will not but you cannot just find pass rushers like that just anywhere not to mention the scheme change.

Maybe O'Connell will take Kirk's game to another level but Kirk has not been awful the past two years and they consistently lost those two seasons.  And that production which was solid is totally for nothing if they team cannot win games.

Will be interesting how this all goes, especially with Danielle Hunter and the free agents Anthony Barr, Patrick Peterson, Xavier Woods, Everson Griffen, Mac Alexander, Tyler Conklin, Jordan Berry, Greg Joseph, Mason Cole, Sheldon Richardson etc.

I just assumed they wanted to start new and rebuild and if could get a trade for Cousins would do it all day long and look toward the future instead of staying in mediocrity for the next two years.  Maybe that will not be the case but maybe it will.
