SemperFeist
So, that basically leaves inside linebackers or linebackers coach as the only position coach left to hire.
SemperFeist
Kotwica as the assistant ST coordinator is an interesting hire. He has 8 years experience as a ST coordinator.

vike daddy
Jones coached Minnesota’s defensive backs in 2020 before his hire as LSU’s defensive coordinator in 2021. Kotwica spent seven seasons with the Jets, including five as assistant special teams coach. He was special teams coordinator with the Commanders from 2014-18 and with the Falcons in 2019-20. Smith reunites with Mike Pettine in Minnesota. Smith worked as outside linebackers coach for the Packers the past three seasons, with Pettine there in 2019-20. Smith also has spent time with the Jets, Chiefs and Texas Tech. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/02/21/vikings-announce-five-assistants-including-wes-phillips-matt-daniels/ Edited February 22, 2022 by vike daddy
vike daddy
Phillips has spent the past three seasons with O'Connell in Los Angeles as the Rams tight ends coach. The 43-year-old added responsibilities as the passing game coordinator for this past season, which ended with Los Angeles winning Super Bowl LVI. Phillips had a hand in overseeing the development of Rams tight end Tyler Higbee, who just completed his sixth NFL season and posted his best stats in the past three years. Higbee recorded 500-plus receiving yards in each of the past three seasons, catching 13 total touchdowns in that span. Phillips was also crucial to Los Angeles' aerial attack in 2021 as the passing game coordinator. The Rams ranked fifth overall with 273.1 passing yards per game and third with 7.65 passing yards per play. https://www.vikings.com/news/wes-phillips-offensive-coordinator-hire?fbclid=IwAR2PknObInolNJbdpbS8bBhFOlVbztJ6REjPpevO2xWxB6MNArPETnXEdD0 Edited February 22, 2022 by vike daddy
dc_vikingfan
Dantzler got to be happy with the DB hire. Cam started out slow with his rookie year but with Jones he was 2020 PFF #1 rated CB rookie.
