He is gone. His contract is/was expiring and they tried to keep him as TE coach but not AHC(Probably knowing he wouldn't accept the paycut coming with it).

Interesting.

I'm only wondering because if McDaniel comes to Miami, would make sense now for him to bring in Embree.

The 2nd best offensive mind in the league didn’t even wanna coach Goff and was held back by him.

You saying McVay is 2nd best offensive mind in the league behind Dan Campbell?  😉  Because Goff looked passable when Dan Campbell started calling the offensive players.  And to be clear, Goff sucks.

Lynn just wasn't a fit in Detroit for whatever reason. Good coach though.

Source? Every report I see is he's gone.

Sorry, yeah. Not what I meant to dispute. Wilcots put out a garbage gotcha headline swinging at some low hanging fruit given recent coaching news.

He is gone, but as justone said, it was just an instance of his contract being up and it appears that the niners were interested in bringing him back as TE coach, but not an assistant

Passable? Yeah that’s what all coaches are striving for.

Maybe they should teach better?

Lynn took the job knowing Goff was the QB.  It doesn't help Lynn's cause that Goff, paired with an inexperienced coordinator and play caller, played better than a guy like Stafford during the same time frame and much, much better than when paired with Lynn.

Lynn is a professional and seems affable so he'll always get work, but let's not pretend he had no hand in producing poor results last year.

Lynn had success offensively with both Rivers and Herbert, so far the outlier is Goff. Who is for lack of a better phrase, not good.

When it comes to play calling he doesn't seem too great, but he only really called plays briefly in Buffalo. With the Chargers he was a CEO type HC.

He's a high character, leader of men type who is widely respected in the league. He will always get a look from teams.
