RedGold
DB’s for me. McDuffie, Williams, and Cook were all guys I was stubbornly high on. Also liked Watson. Lot of versatility in the back end.

We'd have cut someone good if we had to keep Ross on the roster proper.
onejayhawk
We heard today that Justyn Ross had another surgery on his foot. The team placed him on PUP. Expect Lucas Niang and Rashad Fenton to follow suit when veterans report next week.

onejayhawk
Here is a few things on the rookies in camp. First a couple on Bryan Cook, who had a nice intereption on day #1. Cook is taking a lot of Dan Sorensen's responsibilities but he's also showing leadership. The second article discusses how the secondary communicates.https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/7/24/23275534/chiefs-rookie-safety-bryan-cook-embraces-the-natural-leadership-role-of-his-positionhttps://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2022/07/24/chiefs-s-bryan-cook-talks-communication-working-with-trent-mcduffie/ Next is Leo Chenal who was pulled early on day #1 for heat stress. On day #2 he had a pick on his final play. One nice line, "You know, iron sharpens iron. In reality, it’s like diamond sharpens like copper with [Mahomes] out there."https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/7/24/23276462/its-been-a-tale-of-two-days-for-leo-chenal-at-chiefs-training-camp One from the offense. Isaiah Pacheco may be a 7th round pick but you would never know it from the stir he causes.https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/7/24/23275566/chiefs-rb-isiah-pacheco-brings-both-speed-and-blocking-ability-to-the-teams-offense Day #2 observations.https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/7/24/23276617/chiefs-training-camp-observations-from-rookie-day-2 Edited July 25, 2022 by onejayhawk
onejayhawk
If there is a buzz-word about the Chiefs this offseason it would be physical or physicality. In the story below, Creed Humphrey wants the OL to be known as one of the most physical in the league, a big change from the zone blocking technicians prior to 2020. It's not just the offensive line. The defense has added size and hitting power from DL to CB. They remind of the Baltimore Ravens teams of a decade ago, only we have Pat Mahomes not Joe Flacco. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2022/07/26/kansas-city-chiefs-creed-humphrey-offensive-line-reputation-most-physically-dominating-in-nfl/ Edited July 26, 2022 by onejayhawk

onejayhawk
I still think Geron Christian will be the one who is the first option. Johnson is getting his chance early. It may be his only chance but we will see.

onejayhawk
Assorted observations and tweets. The last one caught my interest. Trent McDuffie, Skyy Moore, and Corey Coleman were returning punts. Daurice Fountain is the odds on 6th WR for his special team play even without returning punts, but this adds a wrinkle. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/7/27/23281452/chiefs-training-camp-observations-from-day-1 Cortez Broughton was released with a failed physical designation. Jakuvious
They are not giving Josh Williams the easy matchups so far. In the few clips I've seen, he's keeping up well with Juju and Kelce. Just hard guys to stop for a low round rookie lol.
