Easy team to root for; Cousins always get unfair criticism, JJ is a freak that takes over games and KOC is a prodigy (although his goal line playcalling nearly killed them). Nah... just a team winning based on the Packers falling off a cliff. Cowboy game will be telling, but only if they blow them out. NFC is pretty weak this year. If they have to beat 2/4 from 49er/Bucs/Dallas/NYG they are screwed. Going to Philly, they are screwed. It's not impossible, but it will be more improbable than the Bengal run to a SB, even as a #2 seed.

They may be the most complete team, but defensively I'm not familiar with their personnel. Maybe they have it though. Beat Dolphins without Tua. They have a very good pass rushing duo in Hunter/Smith, one of the better run stuffing DL in Tomlinson, a top tier LB in Kendricks, and two DBs that have been top tier guys for years in Peterson/Smith. He's clearly a good QB. Guy can make all the throws and for the most part is a great decision maker. My biggest issue with him is his inability to close out big games like he should. Seems like everytime the Vikings are about to put the game away he either takes a horrible sack or throws a bad pick.

Ultimately the biggest issue with this team is how the offense consistently stalls out in the second and third quarters. Can’t keep relying on late game heroics.

You guys have shown grit and found ways to win games this year though. I think once TJ Hockenson is fully integrated into the offense you guys will take another leap.

The secondary is average in my opinion but that front 7 is so good it makes up for a lot on the back end. As long as the secondary isn't awful like they have been the past few years they'll be fine. You can rely on late game heroics when you have the talent to do so and the Vikings definitely have the talent. That offense is so explosive, as long as Cousins doesn't completely meltdown they'll be in every game until the very end.

Packers could be 9-0 and the best team ever, and the Vikings would still be just one win less than where they’re now at 7-2. The last two years have been intense as a Vikes fan. Last year it seems we played in nothing but one score games and lost most of them. Now we have the opposite problem. Winning is great but they’ve got to start pulling away from teams. Edited November 15, 2022 by vikingsrule

They played the Bills, who are definitely a Super Bowl contender, tough while leaving plenty of room for improvement. More aggressive run D at the beginning of the game coupled with Cousins getting back 2 throws and the Vikings could have won big instead (obviously the corollary holds true for the Bills).

So the Vikings are 8-1 only because Green Bay sucks this year? How does that make any sense? GB could be 7-2 and Minnesota would have the same record.
