Players were leaving on terms before (TG, Cooks, clay, etc…) and it seems it’s worse now with Henderson, Akers, and who knows who else. Seems like a toxic locker room right now. Wow. Good riddance Hollins he's a waste of a roster spot so is Bobby Evans though but with the injuries I get him sticking around kind of. I can't stop laughing though at Hendo being cut. Henderson's a free agent after this season and the writing is on the wall that he won't be back. Throw in that whether he ever gets his explosiveness back or not, Akers is still on an actual contract and an inexpensive rookie one at that after this season and the logic threads really do line up. We're in eval-for-2023 mode at this point; the coaching staff wants to see if guys lower down on the depth chart are capable of stepping up or their positions need to be added to the shopping list for the 2023 offseason. Honestly, if we hadn't seen a fairly reliable track record of our "defensive pieces we weren't in a rush to re-sign" getting overpaid enough to net us at least reasonable comp picks, I'd have half expected a similar fate for Taylor Rapp. It's about developing guys that will be with us past this season where we can at this point - and you develop them by giving them minutes in gameplay, not by just having them practice. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I really don't see a point in getting rid of Hendo just to bring in Gordon. The season's basically lost so it's time to get Akers (who isn't a FA after this year like Hendo) and Kyren some work.
