They inherited a expiring deal QB and wanted to see how he would perform under their admin. Gruden is one to blame for not trading Carr years ago where we Could of got compensation. Didn’t work out but when you look around the league at guys like Watson, Kyler, Wilson a lot of those deals look questionable and those teams are stuck.
