Arthur is the main character you play as in RDR2. John is the character you play as in RDR1. RDR2 is a prequel to RDR1. In RDR2, Arthur is a member of the Dutch Van Der Linde's gang but throughout the game he's becoming increasingly out of touch with reality and the gang's situation.

So are Arthur and John brothers? And are they Allies or enemies with Dutch?

Quick question:

Arthur?

John?

Dutch?

Please a brief description on lore would be great

I'm going to spare a lot of side story and just keep it to how these three intertwine

Arthur is the main character of the red dead 2 video game (which is a prequel to the first game).  As a child, Arthur watched his dad be killed and wears his hat throughout his life.  It was in his teen years that Dutch found Arthur and took him in  A couple years later, Dutch also brough in John and the two grew up almost as brothers with Dutch serving as a mostly loving father figure.  Some years later, a hoe named Abigail joined the group, fell in love with John and they had a child.  John refused to acknowledge the child as his, left the gang only to return a year or so later (timeline i don't recall)  Arthur disliked John for abandondining his family ( Athur actually had gotten married with his own child who were both tragically shot and killed, likely leading to this dislike).  While John was away, Arthur became a fatherlike figure to young Jack Marston

As the story progresses, The FBU group gets an insider which we later find out to be Micah, this leads to a lot of hijinks with Dutch being brainwashed by Micah and distrusting the rest of the group.  His allegiance to Arthur stays true for much longer than Arthur's with him.  Eventually though Dutch refuses to accept things for how the are and has images of grandiose, always promising one last score.  Throughout the game, Arthur gets TB and slowly rekindles his brotherhood with John and depeding on how you played the game, even dies protecting him in the end.  In the epilogue, you see John and Abigail on their own farm, living peacefully which leads to the beginning of Red Dead 1

That's the extreme cliffnotes version of those characters in  Red dead 2

Arthur is the Main Character of Red Dead 2 (which takes place BEFORE Red Dead 1, which is important to know). He is the guy you play as for the vast majority of the game. John Marston is the playable character in Red Dead 1.
Dutch van der Linde is the leader of the van der Linde gang which Arthur and John are members of.

SPOILERS BELOW!!!

At the beginning of the game, Arthur doesn’t like John. John has a wife/girlfriend named Abigail and they have a son together, Jack (Malf allegedly). At some point before the games, John was having some kind of personal struggle with being a bandit and left the gang (leaving behind Abigail and Jack) and Arthur thinks of him as a poor man because of it. Dutch and his gang are running from the Pinkertons after a failed boat heist that led to a shootout, and Dutch has a personal vendetta against Colm O’Driscoll (Orca allegedly) who is the leader of a rival gang who killed Dutch’s wife. Dutch paints himself and his group of bandits as different than Colm because Colm is only in it for himself with expendable nameless thugs that work for him whereas the Van Der Linde gang is a close knit family. Soon, Arthur is diagnosed with TB and given just a short time to live, and he begins to reflect and realize that Dutch is basically the same as Colm and never cared about anyone. He realizes his purpose for the last days of his life (his “red dead redemption”) is to actually help John escape the bandit life because he has something actually worth living for (Abigail and Jack)
