Lions drafted Charles Rogers, Roy Williams and Mike Williams in 3 years. A few years later they took Titus Young and Ryan Broyles early.

I will not have them supplanted as "Worst team in history to evaluate talent at X position" Just because the Packers didn't draft receivers in the 1st round for a few years.

Roy Williams was pretty solid for them. Him and Megatron would have been dynamic with Stafford throwing.

Also Charles Rodgers was good he just shattered his shoulder and then ended up addicted to pain meds and his life spiraled. Hardly an issue of evaluation tbh

Being honest, I thought his issue was weed. Definitely didn’t know about the situation you described.

Roy Williams really only looks bad when tossed in with the other names. He was... fine.

Charles Rogers broke the same collarbone twice. He got addicted to pain meds and the NFL blamed it on weed instead so they wouldn't look bad. He did have weed issues, but obviously pain meds are a more serious addiction. Detroit's staff might actually be responsible for his addiction as well. It's entirely possible that he could have had a decent career elsewhere.

It wasn't only bad eval based on his durability, it was horrible treatment.

Same sort of thing with Ryan Broyles and Titus Young. We drafted Broyles with a torn ACL and he never fully recovered or developed into anything. Titus young injured the ligament in his head and never recovered.

Mike Williams is just one of the worst picks in history. No excuses.
