Tennessee should have kept the Oilers name

Always juggling alternate timeline team names in my hypothetical headspace...

New York Goliaths instead of Giants.

Minnesota Lumberjacks/Mammoths/Majestics instead of Vikings...maybe.

Houston Gamblers like the old USFL would be better than Texans, but obviously that wouldn't happen.

Memphis Showboats are still better than Tennessee Titans

Washington Bosshogs.

Seattle Reign

...this is what happens when you live in a village sequestered from society at large :)

I can see why the adams family would want to keep the color scheme, but why the name and logo? they'll never use it again

They make a lot of money selling merch to poor Houstonians still stuck in the good old times.

Man honestly this is such a big argument and I feel like it’s an easy way to rile up Texans fans by saying the Oilers are the Titans but at this point the Texans are the Texans.

The Adams family see the Oilers as the Adams team and don’t associate franchise and city. It’s stupid in our eyes because we are literally manipulated to believe City = Franchise because without Houston there is no Oilers and the Oilers couldn’t have existed without using the Houston name to wrangle fans and use taxpayer money to upkeep stadium and team but the sad truth is that the Adams family can pretend it’s the same team and same legacy, with different fans and literally being rivals with the city the history was made in with zero consequences.

In 30 years time it’ll probably matter so little but it’s crazy how the Titans are most likely going to stroll into Houston wearing Oilers throwbacks this season and the emotion effect that will probably have on lots of older fans recalling how much trust was broken and we all still want to argue how franchise and city aren’t connected.
