He had 6 TD against Tennessee and 12 TD in their other 12 games combined.

37 TD / 20 INT in 25 games at South Carolina is mid.

Played behind a terrible OLine. Didn’t play with first round wideouts like Jayden Daniels either. Look it up

He didn't get "beat out". He was the starter and came into the season as a Heisman candidate. He failed miserably and famously got booed off the field.

Any backup QB would have been called to action. It was toxic at Oklahoma. They hated him. He was a head case. The fact they had the #1 recruit just fueled it.

Losing the starting job 3 years ago to the projected #1 pick and Heisman trophy winner is not a negative.  It would happened to virtually every QB the last 3 seasons in NCAAF. Any backup? What kind of statement is that?

Rattler went into the 2021 season as the Heisman Trophy favorite

Quarterbacks are getting the best 2021 Heisman Trophy odds, with Oklahoma's Spencer Rattler heading the list at 11-2 odds, according to Caesars Sportsbook.

He crapped the bed and got benched, Caleb being great wasn't a huge factor, it was more so Rattler being terrible.

Rattler has Top 2-3 overall arm talent in this draft and is a great athlete (starred on a state championship basketball winning team at PG) though not an explosive athlete (similar to Mahomes). I would love to grab him in the 3rd and groom him for a year or two behind Russell Wilson or Fields. The 2nd is a little too rich for me though

Rattler has a better arm than Caleb, Maye, or Milton?

Everyone gushing over Rattler didn’t watch USC football at all this or last year. I’m convinced of it.

1000%. They are reading twitter comments and running with them. SEC fans know.

They saw a former NFL scout compare him to Mahomes (Daniel Kelly, dude a clown) and he became everyone favorite prospect.

He has better overall arm talent than Milton meaning he can make all the throws and not just throw the ball 95 yards down the field.

He is also on par with Maye and Williams. That is easily apparent if you watch the smallest amount of tape on him. He may have question marks and issues (which is why he’s being talked about as a day 2 pick) but arm talent is not one of them.

Thanks. Not sure how @bucksavage1 is trying to defend this. Rattler didn't lose the job to Caleb. It had nothing to do with Caleb and everything to do with Rattler's awful performances.

There are 6 qbs worth a look in my very amateur opinion.....then there's everyone else...lol.  the end. Don't get me wrong, there's some later round developmental guys (isn't there always....😉😉) but for me personally if it's not one of the six, I'm gonna be disappointed. And no, I don't care which of the six (they all have excellent-decent potential) as long as we don't reach or give up way too much in a trade up. We gotta take a swing. Period.

Agreed mostly. Caleb is the only one that I would object to (The Raiders have no chance anyways). I could live with the rest.

The thing with Rattler is that his career was supposed to follow the trajectory that Caleb Williams career actually did.

He was recruited by Lincoln as the #1 QB in his class (so was Caleb), had good productions with high end flashes in his first year as a starter, and came into his second season as a starter as the Heisman favorite and projected #1 overall pick. He just couldn't live up to the expectations and seems to be somewhat of a bad apple.
