He was a pretty mediocre back who landed in the right place at the right time. Capitalized on that. Then suffered an injury that basically nuked what little athleticism he initially had. Slow, non-dynamic RBs who aren't particularly good at anything and have no standout anything just aren't useful on a roster. He was a serviceable RB briefly, on the strength of his ability to just read blocks and take what's there.
