AZBearsFan
Noteworthy (to me): RB: Johnson 5th DE: Robinson 2nd, Lewis 3rd, Gipson 4th CB: Vildor 5th KR/PR: Velus 1st on both Edited August 8, 2023 by AZBearsFan
AZBearsFan
FWIW I don’t recall hearing anything but good things about Velus re: punt returns this camp thus far. Different game with no live bullets on PRs in camp, but encouraging. There haven’t really been any questions about his ability once the ball was in his hands - only about whether he was able to get it there. If he has found reliable hands for securing the ball as a PR that’s big IMO. His speed as a returner is absolutely a weapon. Hopefully they’ve coached him to be more aggressive on KRs too - he let a lot of balls fall for touchbacks last year that I would’ve liked to see returned. Update - they amended it and Johnson is listed 3rd at RB, not 5th. That makes more sense.

It was just a call back to my youth coaching days and what I learned and have since forgotten on passing concepts from an old FL coach in response to something AZ said. I tend to over share sometimes, process my thoughts aloud and get inside my own head. It gets me into trouble at times.

Obviously Kyler doesn’t feature as the #2 corner. I also really hope Ebner doesn’t make the roster. I just have no interest in a redemption story from him. Like to see Scott land above Pettis too. Pettis is useless. I don’t think Johnson is 5th, especially if it’s true he’s been doing well in pass pro. Unless he’s playing excessively like a rookie, he’s not ‘5’ for long. i also don’t mind velus as the return specialist. People are so quick to hate him but he did come into his own in his own way last season after the plethora of early mistakes. He’s an older player to be making mistakes but I do think he could add value.

That’s about what I expect, a 3 headed monster that leans to the hot hand, and then some miserable moments sprinkled in where Homer and Ebner get a 2.7 yard carry. Also not looking forward to cutting Gay Boy

Alternate insights is better than the same repeated ideas. And if it’s not agreed with, then of course we’ll shame you.

dll2000
Take depth chart with a giant grain of salt right now. Ford in front of Claypool? Pinkney a starter? Roschon will not be 5th RB off bench.

LOL Even after the update still Vildor running 4th string…not a massive shock…Gipson is the really interesting one IMO… That said a half way through camp depth chart means nothing at all.

Said don't put stock in depth chart, but Velus deserves his spot on depth chart regardless.
