THE DUKE
McCain needs more targets. Are you able to specify a target share? He should be getting 15 targets a game in this offense.

This made me laugh. Right before reading this post, and after reading your career stat post, I was thinking that this might be the first cycle of Madden Zeke doesn't end up being the all time leading rusher since he debuted in the game. All he needed was out of Dallas to longer be the GoAT.

I have him set as the #1 and as the slot WR which historically has generated the most catches. He’s been hindered by nagging injuries and bad QB play imo. Danger
Was just looking at your stats from the last season and it seems you're only running about 53 offensive snaps per game. League average in the NFL the last 3 years 2021: 63.1 2022: 63.3 2023: 63 If you got those additional snaps your QBs passing yards would be about 500 or so higher and much more in line with realistic expectations. No team has had as low number of snaps as you seem to have in the NFL in well over a decade. I imagine this is a big part of the reason sim stats still feel off. He just didn't put all stats up. His OT and OC are playing over 1000 snaps. The 1087 by the center would be 63.9. Not sure how the game accounts for special teams plays for a LS, or if he played every snap. If Madden calculates PAT's as downs played, it might be a little low, but he only has 66 combined punts and FGAs. I'll check the snap counts of the skill players when I get home tonight. I don't know if there's any way to increase the amount of snaps in the sim. I could raise the minutes per quarter and take away any of the runoff time between plays but I think that only impacts user games.

Madden tracks every snap, so somr OL will have a lot of extras because of those ST snaps

ones. My roster is starting to fill up with talent and there are certain positions I still need to upgrade to get it to be competitive. With that in mind, I plan on targeting specific players in this draft class and doing what needs to be done to go get those players instead of letting the draft come to me like I usually do. These are my biggest team needs: #1 QB - QB who can compete as starter #2/1 HB - HB who can either be a strong #2 or compete as starter #3 WR – I plan to move Palmer, so this is a need #1 RT – I need to replace Cam Robinson TE Depth Oline Depth #1 LB – A new starting linebacker to play either MLB or ROLB #1 CB – I need a legitimate #1 Corner #4 CB – I need more CBs in general #1 SS – someone to take Davis place as the new starter. Linebacker Depth That is a lot of needs for a team 4 years in. Luckily I have a ton of draft picks in this class: Round 1 pick 2 Round 1 pick 10 Round 2 pick 35 Round 2 pick 42 Round 2 pick 50 Round 3 pick 68 Round 3 pick 83 Round 3 pick 94 Round 4 pick 106 Round 4 pick 107 Round 5 pick 132 Round 5 pick 147 Round 6 pick 162 Round 7 pick 202 So with all of that I’ve created a list of player to fill these needs. Here’s the list and how I plan to get them: #1 – MLB Mike Woodward – Use Pick #2 overall – Mocked 3rd, 8th, 5th, 12th, 5th – Woodward fills a huge need as a starter in my 4-3 (I need a new starter after trading Sirvovea Dennis last year) and with his speed he will be and upgrade over Tatum in the coverage linebacker role in nickel sets. He is a high end linebacker prospect, probably the best linebacker the cpu has generated in this Franchise. I could possibly try to trade down a few spots and still land him, but he’s currently mocked at 5 and has previously been mocked at 3, so it would be risky. #2 – CB Rashard Woodard – Use Pick #10 overall – Mocked 6th, 1st, 14th, 13th, 13th – I have Woodard fully scouted and he’s confirmed as a Top 5 talent. His coverage skills are not where you’d want a first round pick, but his other skills must be higher than usual to boost up his OVR. He has fallen to 10 in the past 3 mocks, but has gone higher than that earlier on (even going #1 overall once). Since his skills aren’t amazing I’m not willing to move up for him, so I have to have a backup plan if Woodard is gone. The options would be to either take another CB like Ty Parker (has press) or CB Imani Flowers (high skill ratings all around), or trade down and target the next prospect. #3 – QB Daniel Russell – Don’t have a pick yet – Likely Early 2nd Round – Russell is a good athlete for a QB with a decent arm, he should provide good competition for the starting QB role. If he ends up my starting QB I’d like to have a 5th year option for him, so I’m going to have to get a late first round pick. I would prefer to try to trade WR Palmer for this pick even if I have to throw in some future picks to make it work. I have too many other players I need to target in the 2nd. #4 – SS Joshua Darby – Need to trade up from 50 - Mocked 31st, 14th, 11th, N/A, N/A – Likely Early 2nd Round/Or slip back into 1st – Darby is undersized for a Safety but is very athletic for the position. As a Hybrid even if he doesn’t work out at Safety he could provide CB depth. There’s definitely a chance he doesn’t fall to the second round, but there’s no way he falls to 42 so I have to move up for him. The plan is to move up from 50 to 33 because I don’t think he will last long in the second (and I need 42 for another prospect). If Darby doesn’t fall out of the first, SS John Allen is probably the fallback plan. #5 – HB Austin Bennett – Use pick #35 overall – Likely Early 2nd Round – Bennett is a big powerful back that can compete with Edwards for the starting role. While Edwards has put up some decent yardage he has failed to score TDs. Having both will also give me injury insurance at the RB spot. #6 – WR Sean Vasher – Use pick #42 overall – Likely Mid 2nd Round – Vasher is another burner with decent size who will slide into the #3 WR role after I trade Palmer. The plan is just to take him at 42 as he’s a projected Round 2-3 prospect, so hopefully I won’t need to move up for him. #7 – RT Joseph Hamilton – Need to trade up from 3rd Round – Likely Mid 2nd Round – Super strong road grader with size. Hamilton should be a day 1 starter at RT. I don’t think he will drop to the 3rd so I’ll have to move up for yet another 2nd rounder. Not sure what I’ll have to pay to move up but I’d like to target a pick right after #42. That should address every need on the roster. This is going to require a lot of trades but I plan to make them while on the clock as I’ll have to adapt to any curveballs thrown my way. Time to start the draft. Washington selected ROLB Greg Harris #1 overall. I’m on the clock. I think its too risky to trade down, so time to start the plan. With the 2nd overall pick in the NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: MLB Mike Woodward, Stanford Pass Coverage (80), Field General (80), Run Stopper (79) - Hidden dev! 92 Speed! 93 Acceleration! This guy is a monster! Ok the plan is to just sim to 10. Hopefully CB Woodard falls. The Saints select DT Ben Powers at 3. That’s a good pick for them I think he will be good. LT KC Townsend was selected #4 by the Cardinals. I’m not a fan of Agile tackles this high. LOLB Trey Parra goes 5 to the Vikings. That is good because he was mocked at 2 but replaced MLB Woodard who was mocked at 5. Hopefully this means CB Woodard continues to fall. RT Khalid Lowell goes #6 to the Lions, so far the mock has been dead on. QB Nick Reynolds is the Patriots selection at 7, I had him fully scouted and he is a Round 2-3 talent. Pretty bad pick this high unless he’s a Superstar. ROLB Quinton Bowens is a Jet after going #8. And finally QB Dillon Glover goes #9 to the Titans, I thought he was ok but his accuracy ratings were subpar for a first round pick. I’m on the clock, everything is going according to plan. With the 10th overall pick in the NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: CB Rashard Woodard, Mississippi State Zone (78), Slot (74), Man to Man (73) - Hidden dev! He’s a solid athlete with 90 speed, 92 acceleration. Hopefully he’s a Superstar or better. Either way he will be a solid #2 or future #1 at CB for me. Now the plan is to sim to around the early 20s and make a trade to get my QB. *TRADE* NY Giants Receive WR Trey Palmer (83) RT Cam Robinson (77) #94 overall pick (3rd) #147 overall pick (5th) 2028 Bucs 3rd Round Pick Buccaneers Receive #24 overall pick - Palmer is coming off of a 1,151 yard season and the Giants top WR is only 81 OVR. Their starting RT is currently 74 OVR, so this trade provides them with two new starters. With the 24th overall pick in the NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: QB Daniel Russell, Georgia Tech Scrambler (78), Strong Arm (75), Field General (75), Improviser (75) - Hidden dev! Hell yes! 3 for 3. 93 Throw Power for just “great” arm strength is incredible. 90 Spd, 89 ACC. I think he’s the new starter. The plan now is to sim to 33. Wow Darby dropped! The plan is working. *TRADE* Commanders Receive #50 overall (2nd) CB Roger McCreary (79) Buccaneers Receive #33 overall - McCreary gives the Commanders more CB depth. With the 33rd overall pick in the NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: SS Joshua Darby, Clemson Hybrid (76), Run Support (74), Zone (74) - 4 for 4! Hidden Dev! 92 spd, 90 acc. He should be a versatile piece for my secondary. Now I just need the Broncos not to take HB Austin Bennett. They took RG Alex Newby, I like that pick for them he’s solid. I’m on the clock. With the 35th overall pick in the NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: HB Austin Bennett, Utah Power Back (73), Elusive Back (72), Receiving Back (60) - Normal dev. Bummer. I guess he’s destined to be a backup. 88 speed is kind of disappointing too. Oh well, can’t win them all. The final part of the plan is to now sim to 42 and try to trade for 43 as well. I’m on the clock at 42. Both WR Vasher and RT Hamilton are still available. With the 42nd overall pick in the NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: WR Sean Vasher, Oklahoma Deep Threat (76), Playmaker (75), Slot (70), Physical (69) - Hidden dev! 96 spd, 95 acc. Great replacement for Palmer and should be my long term #3. *TRADE* Bills Receive HB Rachaad White (77) #83 overall (3rd) #162 overall (6th) Buccaneers Receive #43 overall (2nd) - White moves on to a contender after I replaced him. With the 43rd overall pick in the NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: RT Joseph Hamilton, Iowa State Power (72), Agile (67), Pass Protector (66) - Omg, Hidden Dev! What a draft! 90 Strength. He’s the new starter at RT. Plan complete. Wow I can’t believe I pulled that off. This draft is going amazing so far. The rest will be just gravy. Time to sim to the 3rd round, I don’t have any plans for the later picks. Alright I’m on the clock at 68. Here’s the BPAs: TOP AVAILABLE SS John Allen SS Lawrence McQueen TE Rick Palmer LOLB Glenn Phillips MLB Nate Spain I’m kind of shocked SS John Allen is still on the board. He’s a Round 1-2 talent with a great combine. I just took another SS earlier and already have a solid one in Davis on the roster, but Allen is far and away the BPA on the board. SS McQueen isn’t as athletic as Allen but has better skills. TE Rick Palmer is a solid prospect with good size, but he would be buried down the depth chart for me. Linebacker depth is a need, and both LOLB Phillips and MLB Spain are good prospects. If I had to choose between them, I’d probably take Phillips. Well I’m not sure how I’m going to fit him on the roster but I believe in sticking to BPA. With the 68th overall pick in the NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: SS John Allen, Georgia Run Support (72), Zone (71), Hybrid (70) - Dang, normal dev. Decent athlete, 91 Spd, 89 Acc. He will be good depth but maybe I should have gone with one of the linebackers. Alright I’m on the Clock again in the 4th round. I actually have back to back picks here. TOP AVAILABLE FS Evan Chambers OC Louis Parker RG Brayden Lynn HB Steve Hargrave RG Michael Hughes Chambers would be yet another safety. I don’t have a backup OC on the roster, so Parker would make some sense. RG Lynn is strong and could replace some of the lower quality oline depth on the roster. HB Hargrave might have a hard time making the roster. RG Hughes isn’t as good as Parker or Lynn. With the 106th overall pick in the NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: OC Louis Parker, Texas A&M Pass Protector (74), Power (69), Agile (68) - Wow! Hidden dev! Only 83 strength but that isn’t a killer at Center. He should make for excellent depth. *TRADE* Colts Receive 107th overall pick (4th) Buccaneers Receive Colts 2028 3rd Round Pick - Replenish some of those future picks I had to trade away. Simming to the 5th. Sigh. FS Evan Chambers has fallen to the 5th round. He’s far and away the BPA. I guess I have to take him at this point. With the 132nd overall pick in the NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: FS Evan Chambers, Buffalo Run Support (64), Zone (62), Hybrid (62) - Normal dev. Slow, 86 speed. Not a great pick. I only have 1 more pick, in the 7th round. With the 202nd overall pick in the NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: MLB Earl Crowley, Oklahoma State Pass Coverage (67), Field General (66), Run Stopper (64) - Normal dev, but 89 spd, 90 acc. Not a terrible 7th round pick. That wraps another draft. This was pretty much a homerun. Edited October 18, 2023 by MKnight82
