I like your optimism, even though that's probably not going to happen. The unfortunate thing for Harrison too is that they only even made the 1 NFCC game...and it was a brutal performance, even for him.
vike daddy
Harrison Smith showed appreciation for defensive coaches flocking to the end zone after Van Ginkel's lightning quick interception, which apparently led to Head Coach Kevin O'Connell getting a warning from officials and passing it along via his headset. On the involvement of Vikings coaches, Smith was candid: "It's their work, too. There's a lot that goes into this even beyond coaches. The feeling and the respect and understanding of how many people it takes to be successful on game day, we're pretty aware of that, and if everybody wants to celebrate, that's even better. We'll take a warning." https://www.vikings.com/news/harrison-smith-35th-interception-quest-for-even-better

SemperFeist
Love what we’ve seen from Jones, Ward, and Tillery this year. That second string is what allows the team to be as effective as they’ve been. Edited Sunday at 09:54 PM by SemperFeist

vike daddy
After dominating the Jets at the point of attack and in time of possession in a runaway Week 1 win, the 49ers met a much tougher opponent in Week 2. Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores' defense made life incredibly difficult for Brock Purdy and the 49ers, forcing Purdy to throw an interception on a pass released under duress, and as the game progressed, it appeared as if Purdy grew increasingly uncomfortable, serving as a testament to Flores' game plan against the young star quarterback. San Francisco still finished with 399 yards of total offense, but with just 17 points to show for it. The 49ers reached Minnesota's red zone just four times all afternoon, turned it over on downs on their first trip, finished 2 for 10 on third down and failed to keep pace with the Vikings' offense, a rare outcome for a Kyle Shanahan-led offense. That's the handiwork of Flores and a Vikings defense that has proven rather stout through two weeks. NFL.com

SotanKing
I think this defense just needs some improvement at DT..will probably have until next year's draft. If we can improve at DT, then this can be a pretty dangerous defense

There was maybe 1 or 2 fans that thought he should be the head coach over KOC and maybe 1 or 2 that didn't approve Now it's just the rest of the league that doesn't like him as DC for the Vikings
vike daddy
Safety Joshua Metellus thanked Minnesota's front seven for less stress in the secondary. Metellus: "When you're a DB and the front is getting pressure like that, they're running Brock Purdy down like that, they make our jobs so much easier. We've played two games, man, and it's felt too easy back there. The big dogs, they've been doing their jobs, man." "We're gonna start capitalizing on our end, and we're just gonna keep playing off each other." https://www.vikings.com/news/blake-cashman-defense-make-big-stops-49ers-week-2
vike daddy
Van Ginkel: "We're a tough team, dependable, and we rely on each other and fly around and make plays. I think we're special. From front end to back end, we've got guys all over the place who can make plays. We've got guys, we've got depth, and the sky's the limit for us." Metellus: "I don't know, man. When they brought this group of guys in during the offseason, we just gelled immediately. Man, it's like they knew exactly what this team was built on, and then they went and got those guys who fit the exact mold. All of them over there wearing purple for the first time, playing at U.S. Bank Stadium for the first time, they just fit right in with the team." "We're brothers instantly, and the connection is ever-growing. I'm excited to see what we can do." https://www.vikings.com/news/blake-cashman-defense-make-big-stops-49ers-week-2
