Great season regardless for sure.

Probably lost both an all pro bid and MVP tonight

Yea no way you can sway any voters that were on the fence with that kind of showing in arguably the biggest NFL game of the year.

But I never thought they were going to give it to him anyways tbh.

This just now gives them justification to do what they're were already planning to do.

100% agree, too many talking heads were losing their minds at giving him the award.

Purdy goes over 4K yards on the season in 15 starts. First 49ers 4K passer since Jeff Garcia. So that's cool at least.

Even with the hideous showing against the Ravens, Purdy's QB rating for a season still ranks 2nd in franchise history over 1994's Steve Young. And barely. 112.2 to 112.8.

I don't buy that Purdy was not going to win the MVP if he played well last night. The betting odds MATTER and he was a -200 betting favorite. It would have been a huge upset had he not won the award if the team won last night with him having his usual 270 yards and 3 TDs type of game.

The kid blew it but should still make the Pro Bowl. Very good year 2 but he needs to end it by making the SB and winning it.

I am happy Purdy is out of the MVP race.  Who wants to be a kid 10's of millions of dollars on the wrong side of Vegas casinos and the mob.  Vegas would have taken a bath on those +5000 preseason bets.  This line is not an accurate reflection of what will happen, but a correction to keep money off of Brock.

Purdy won't break Steve Young's franchise TD record, but he has a chance against Washington to own the franchise passing yards in a season record. Garcia currently has it at 4278 yards on 561 attempts. From his 2000 season.

7 in the next two games to tie it is possible, I think. He's hit four 3 times this season and 3 twice, and Washington has the 32nd ranked pass defense, and the Rams aren't great on defense either/we may need to keep scoring to win that game anyways

Fair enough. Don't know if it would really be "breaking it" since Steve got his 36 TDs in 15 games. Purdy might have a higher TD percentage though.

To whoever said before the season that Purdy would probably throw double digit picks this year and that his INT% would probably be similar to last year, congratulations, after that debacle he's now at 11 and 2.6%, ahead of last year's 2.4%. Before the game it was at 7 and 1.8%

If he doesn't throw another pick this year, he'll likely end up right back at 2.4% for the year.

He'll need to get that to come down just a bit moving forward (he's bottom third of the league right now), but he's always going to be a tick high given that he's a chaos merchant.

I'm fine with it due to him more times than none making the right play in going for the big play opposed to checking it down. Now, yesterday he had two INTs where he went for the checkdown or screen and that's just bad luck. Our offense is also heavily towards the middle of the field so there will be more INTs compared to a team just throwing on the sidelines. Again, it's fine.

So wholesome.

I am not one of those tin foil hat guys that says the NFL is scripted, but the media sure is scripted, and the scrip]t is against Purdy.  The only outlier about him comp]ared to Romo, Warner, etc is the MVP} odds and it;'s change throughout the year.  I really do think Vegas, Casinos, and Gambling websites trying to use media coverage to mask their poor preseason Purdy odds.

As nutty as it may seem, I get the fleeting notion that there may some Purdy detractors out there, so radical, that it would be easier to stomach him winning a SB, maybe even SB MVP, than regular-season MVP. The regular-season MVP award can be seen as a more "valid" source of legitimacy due to the bigger sample size of games. Whereas any chum, even at QB, can win a SB (Nick Foles, Mark Rypien, Trent Dilfer, etc.) or a SB MVP (Deion Branch, Malcom Smith, Ottis Anderson, etc.) since it's a one-game affair.

Guess one could also crackback with the ol' "Yeah well, Mark Moseley won league MVP!!!"
