Week 7: San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings

J-ALL-DAY

Browns were off a BYE, and the Bengals will be off a BYE with the 49ers on a short week to prepare. Not ideal.

Also, for whatever reason the CMC fumble is the thing that irks me from this game this most. Seemed like it was an uphill battle in all phases from there.

Purdy isn't responsible for the defense giving up over 450 yards and making Addison and Hockensen look like prime Moss and Gronk, nor is he responsible for CMC fumbling in the red zone and getting held to 3.0 YPC or Moody missing another chip shot. If anything, he was a pretty big reason why we were still in it going into the 4th rather than getting blown out. Unfortunately, things fell apart once we actually hit the 4th quarter and the blame is definitely on him for those two awful picks, but can't just throw out the rest of the game or even the season he's had so far. It's clear from these past two games that he still has a long way to go to be considered among the NFL's elite, if he ever gets there, but he's far from the biggest reason why we lost this game. It's important to remember that he still hasn't started a full season's worth of games in the NFL before we overreact and of course he's still performed far beyond anyone could realistically expect from a 7th round pick

Well, we were 3-4 last year at this point. Plenty of ball left, and squad just needs to make it to the Thanksgiving push in good shape.

Jake Moody nailing that 55 yard kick was a nice sight to see. Hopefully any lingering jitters are out the window for a while.

Lastly, no backbreaking injuries. Thanks goodness, since Warner going down at first blush looked tragic.

There's really nothing drastically different with this team right now. We really do lose these games every year. Will still make the playoffs, likely win a game or two. Nothing to freak out about yet

Never would have imagined the DLine regressing but that's what happened. If it continues we're not going far.

Kyle eventually has to come to his senses about CMC's usage. He's on the mend and you still gave him over 40 snaps. There is no way Jordan Mason should be a DNP.

Jonnydel on his weekly chat said something about Mason's usage which I completely forgot about, which was on film he's really struggled with pass protection assignments. And that's probably why to this point Mitchell has seen time due to his experience in the system. Would still be nice to see Mason get some carries here or there, but I can still why with the 49ers really needed to pull a rabbit out of it's hat for the W he got tunnel vision. He does need a break before he gets smoked though.

Bosa 3.5 sacks in his last 12 games playoffs included. :|

Were Omenihu and Ebukam and even Willis were bigger losses than advertised? Especially Ebukam who was able to set the edge on run plays. No one out of Drake and Ferrell are really able to do that, and Randy is more of a pass rusher. Maybe Drake should not be touching the field. He can’t rush the passer, and is out there getting pancaked by tight ends on run downs.

BTW, it's funny some of the comments one stumbles upon in cyberspace lmao:

Quote

I truly believe Kyle needs someone to check his ***. Like a Schwartz type person. I think we allow him to get too carried away and it ****s with the play calling.

Clock management and player management will never be Kyle's strength.
