Offense:

Formation/Scheme:
 2WR/2TE(50%) , 3WR/1TE(50%)
West Coast passing game, set up with zone rushing attack.
Pass (70%), Run (30%)

Blocking:
Zone concepts in the running game.   Make sure to get help to Vea on the inside.   Trust our young tackles to hold up in pass pro.

Passing game:
We will look to attack Anchorage this week with plenty of cross routes and deep posts.   We look to get our playmakers in positions to create YAC, while also giving Carr a deep option in case Anchorage tries to come up and pressure.   Let Javonte and the TE’s create plays for us by giving them ball to them early.

Running game:
Low rushing attack this week from us,  but we will still focus on zone concepts.   Javonte will be the main guy this week and we look to give him touches on the perimeter to make the Anchorage edge group play contain.

Goal #1 -  Spread out,  let Carr take a cruise through Anchorage
Goal #2  - Hit our playmakers in space and don’t be afraid to take the deep shot.
Goal #3 -  Trust our OL to keep protection

Defense:
Base:
Subpackage: 4-2 Big Dime

Pass Coverage:
Heavy Man coverage, we want to this the young guys this week and let them get some work in.     Man assignments will be determined by alignment we won’t have anyone follow.
LCB: McDuffie
RCB: Jones
NB: G. Williams
Bell will match up with TE or WR4.   Clark will have the RB.

In subpackage.   Bell will take the RB, and Daxton will be dropping down to take the TE.   3rd Down’s.   We will use Kerby to take the TE at times, and look to blitz Clark or Daxton.

Pass Rush:
Rotate heavy along the Front 4,    Edge play with see 50% snap counts between the 4 players.  We want to concentrate on getting up field and making the Anchorage QB uncomfortable in the pockets.   Saunders get a bit role this week spelling Lawrence and Reader.

Run Defense:
Let the big guys eat up the middle and let Clark and Bell use their speed to keep things bottled up.

Goal#1: Let our young CB’s get close and let them work.
Goal#2: Test Anchorage QB’s to make tight throws
Goal#3:  Get the young guys some experience.

Overview:
Last game of the season and a divisional matchup against our friendly rival the Seoul Dragons. Time to end the regular season with a bang. We are locked in as the division winner so we hope everyone gets out of this one healthy as we head to our playoff run while also getting some young guys some game experience.

Offense:

4 Wide (55%), 3 Wide (35%), 4 Wide Twins (10%)

The Italian Stallion:

We are going to air it out with DeVito and allow him to utilize his ability to spread the ball around to hit our receiving targets. Combo routing to attack all levels we won’t limit our playbook for Tommy Cutlets. We will be passing 65% of the time in this one.

Let the Youngin’s Cook:

We will be in a 4 wide 65% of the game and this will allow us to get some extra experience for our young receiving corps. We will stretch the seams and work underneath with our slots. We will run all depths on the outside but really look to get some deep shots with Jamo and Chase. Tre Tucker and AT Perry will get some snaps for experience while Hollywood is the primary backup for the starting 4.

The Trio:

Breece gets 60% of the snaps. Spears and Roschon split the additional 40%. We will utilize a zone rushing scheme with a heavy emphasis on outside zone as we don’t fear the Seoul edge group. Our backs will also not chip in this one as we want free releases into passing routes and believe we can hold up on the oline.

Defense:

•Base Star Nickel against 2TE or 2RB/1TE

•Nickel against 3 Wide

•Dime against traditional 4 Wide and Empty

•4-3 against traditional 2RB/1TE

•5-2 against Heavy extra OL sets or any 3 Tight jumbo package.

  • Primarily Single High Man with some zone sprinkled in (Cover 3/Cover 3 Match/ Cover 2)
  • Rotate front four enough to keep players fresh when the hurry up isn’t preventing personnel changes
  • Disciplined gap responsible defense against the run
  • Primarily pressure with front four with some backer blitzes from Long mixed in
  • Occasional stunts and twists to provide pressure variance
  • JOK is lone LBer in 4 wide with Curl in the box as well
  • Bates is the Single High
  • Adebo has Dell on the outside, Stingley has Pickens outside. Surtain has Kelce, Curl has the #2 TE and JOK has RB.
  • This frees Long up to be a middle spy/disruptor
  • Against 3 Wide Stingley moves to the nickel and Surtain moves outside
  • Against 4 Wide Fulton is the Dime
  • On early downs we look to play Davis more next to Vea to provide even more beef in the middle to clog lanes

I know the B in BDL stands for Bizzaro. But coming up with a 65% passing, 50% 4 WR sets with Tommy DeVito at QB is certainly creative. Look I do think Anchorage has some success. Seoul deciding to use Bell on JSN isn't the best idea. But going 4 wide and pass-heavy for such an extent against Dexter Lawrence is going to cause you some issues. But on the other hand, I don't think I can stand behind Derek Carr standing in a pocket where Jaelyn Duncan protects his blindside against that pass rush.

I think Anchorage wins the yardage battle but Seoul wins it with less turnovers and better red zone success. 20-17
