Kirk camp will start to talk to Denver soon enough

And just how do you think Denver is going to pay for him? And if they can’t afford him, what else about that dumpster fire would interest him?

yeah, if Denver signs a free agent QB it won't be one of the ultra expensive ones.

Sounds like we should know by tonight.

My take hasn’t changed much. From the Vikings side, they have their final offer on the table, and want a decision from Cousins so that they can proceed with their offseason plan. From Cousins’ side, it sounds like he wants to stay in Minnesota, but Atlanta is willing to give him the contract structure that he wants.

as it should be. Cousins makes the choice (and at least he's doing it early) and both teams can move on with their Plan A or Plan B.

the Vikings singing to Kirko:

If you're down and confused
And you don't remember who you're talkin' to
Concentration slip away
But your decision ain't so far away

Don't be angry, don't be sad
Don't sit cryin' over good times we've had
There's two teams right next to you
And we're just waitin' for something to do

Couldn't he explore free agency and still sign back with the Vikings? He's not technically supposed to know what other teams are offering

I don’t think the Vikings are going to wait for him. They’ve made their offer, take it or leave it. If he doesn’t take it, they’ll move forward without him.

But will they give him until the dead hit deadline? KOC did say that he earned the right to become a free agent so it sounded like they expected him to talk to some other teams back then

Kirk is under more time pressure right now than the Vikings are.

if he and the Vikes cannot come to terms now (likely) then he presumably has one other team to negotiate with, Atlanta. if he takes too long there, ATL might have to go in another direction. now what does Kirk have to consider?

meanwhile the Vikes might very well assume they are moving on and need to implement their Plan B, perhaps signing a mid-level, mid-cost free agent QB and drafting a rookie one.

Kirk can't afford to snooze and lose.

This won’t take long, but one way or another it’s likely to happen within 24 hours

Kirk is just finishing up cake at his sons bday party before breaking the news, the good dad that he is not taking away from his sons day.

There is a video of him on twitter walking an elevated tight rope. Interesting choice for a man months removed from surgery, he must know something we don't.

Will the Vikings move quick on a veteran QB if Kirk leaves or will they let the dust settle and pick from the left overs to try to save money?

the veteran free agent QB's are all pretty cheap right now (except for Tannehill), and very much so compared to Kirk's recent salaries.

so they'll go after who they want right away, as there's no benefit to waiting.
