At the beginning of the game I contacted Bcb, Ted, Touch, and Macready about working together. I also knew Scoundrel would be on my side, but I knew he wasn’t taking it too seriously and so I didn’t really talk to him. My goals initially were to outlast Mission, have a good time, kick people’s *** at some comps, and help someone who I felt was deserving of a win (really liked Macready for this. I’ll probably talk about him a lot). Macready was the first one to get back to me and I really felt like I would be by his side until the end. I like the man a lot (still do for the record) and I legitimately feel he’s someone I can learn from and trust. More on this later. Ted seemed to keep his distance from me which was fine. I knew at the very least he wouldn’t directly come after me early and I wasn’t especially into the game enough to think we needed to be any closer. The split house comp broke things wide open as well as the subsequent reveal of the alliance. I’m still so annoyed that I was a Brock Purdy kneel down away from having power, but who knows it may work out for me anyway. When the initial nominations went up, Ted asked me how I felt about the veto. I said I’d likely just pull off Scoundrel, secure his favor, and that I was pretty indifferent to Dwight, Burge, and Skywind going as I had said zero things to any of them. This must have been the moment Ted decided to do his thing and set it up with shady. When the actual vote came around, I was approached by Macready, who had not yet mentioned Burge at all, who asked me to save Burge and not trust Ted. Nazgûl and Burge also approached me. At this point I was a bit suspicious of a bigger alliance but I trusted Macready to have told me and brought me in if he was a part of it. At the very least, though, I realized Burge was likely well connected. I knew Scoundrel didn’t have anyone and he’s one of my best friends, not just on this site but in general, and therefore ultimately decided to vote out Burge. Once the alliance was revealed, it was confirmed to me that at least Nazgûl was full of bs with his “I’ll work with you” plea. If they had wanted to work with me, all they had to say was “hey man we have this group. Ted betrayed us and you can have his spot if you have our back” and it’s quite possible I would have chosen that path with my connections being shaky at best. I am a good teammate and I would have been a positive contributor to that alliance. We could have saved Burge, booted out Ted and Shady, and had complete control but they, IMHO, ****ed up royally by choosing to not bring me in. With Macready blatantly going after him, Touch approached me and wanted to revisit my idea of an alliance. Given the size of the big alliance and the things I know of other people, I am quite certain Touch was a fairly lone wolf. If I’m to win this game, it’s very very possible that Touch’s support in the endgame will be essential. Given I now have Scoundrel’s absolute favor, I hope to have two strong aces up my sleeve with these two. If either of them win then ******* awesome too. I’m not sure what to do with Macready. He and I spoke after the reveal and I believe his side of the story, and I don’t think he is at fault or that he intentionally wanted to hurt me. I’m confident in my read but it’s not a guarantee given he needs to say these things to survive. I at least believe I’m his only potential connection to the Resilience Alliance unless there’s some weird conspiracy going on. I can’t support him though, at least publicly, while the Alliance is together. I hope to keep him around and in my back pocket without having to reveal my connection. I’m wary of Ted similar to how I was wary of ET in BB7 (which for the record I was wrong about ET). Touch has already said he doesn’t trust him (which is why Touch is a better ace for me) and I agree. Ted and Shady are very close and I don’t think I have a chance of taking them both on in the late game. This could change as things get deeper and there’s still that element of them owing me for more or less saving their *****. Essentially, my plan to victory is the same as the one in BB7. I want everyone in the Resilience Squad to have me as their second choice to win besides themselves. Scoundrel is my Rags and Touch is my Dome. I want to be the leader of the alliance but not necessarily through actions. I want to be beloved and be the people’s choice. I want to remain true to myself, honest with people, but also a cutthroat competition player who can not only prove himself valuable to those close to me but also save his own *** when the time inevitably comes. The Macready/Shady vote was a major “lines drawn” moment and it is very interesting that it was a 4/4 tie. I know Scoundrel, Ted, and I voted for Macready and I figured Naz and Skywind voted Shady. It makes the most sense to me that Josh and Daboyle were the other two, but it’s still somewhat cloudy on where exactly the votes came from. Regardless, I believe wholeheartedly that Dwight choosing to evict Macready on the tiebreak really hurt the 4 that voted Shady and so, even if I have it wrong, that those 4 should fall back to another plan. This is why I trust Touch even if I’m not 1000% on where he stood. As such, Touch and I have a final 2 deal. I trust Ted and Shady completely but I feel like they are each other’s #1, and I believe you have to have the close confidant to really win this game. Regardless of nothing else, I fully believe I have the jury vote of these three (which hopefully means I have two because I’d like one of the four of us to win and thus stand beside me), and I likely do not have Nazgûl’s or Dwight’s so it’ll be close but winnable. I hope to continue my competition prowess and use that as additional leverage to vie for jury votes. Evicting Scoundrel sucked a lot but a bad eviction was inevitable with Nazgûl as HoH. I believe Shady and Ted are a bit more involved in the game and I believe they have my back just as much as scoundrel did. I would have much preferred to win the briefcase HoH and compete in the current Br Ba one as I’m confident I could destroy this entire site in a Br Ba competition if I needed to, and it would have given me the ability to get Nazgûl out one before the jury and have yet another one secured in scoundrel. C’est la vie. I’m the best competition player in this game and I have half the remaining house in my alliance. It sucks that Ted is gone and Shady seems to have checked out of the game, but regardless I feel like they’ll have my back in the jury over mostly anyone else. Josh approached me about him, Daboyle, and myself in the final 3. I didn’t have too much choice to accept given they could just vote me out. I don’t know why they chose me over Skywind or even if they actually did, but we are all in agreement to get Dwight out next. Touch is also on board with a Dwight eviction so again, unless he’s just in really deep with him and there’s some major conspiracy going on within the house, Dwight is the next to go. I want to keep Shady around as long as possible, but if he’s going to continue to not participate, I don’t know how I’ll swing it. My two goals for the rest of the game are to 1. Maintain my good will with Josh, Daboyle, and Skywind and not directly betray their trust. 2. Take touch to the final 2 If I can accomplish these two goals, I believe I’ll be crowned the winner. Skywind’s nomination decision was the most important moment of the game for Touch and me. Before the HoH comp took place, I approached Skywind and asked him how he felt. He told me he didn’t feel safe as he had learned Touch, Josh, Butters, and I had formed an alliance after the Burge reveal. We agreed not to nominate each other. This gave me safety with any HoH win unless there was some conspiracy with Touch. This meant that actually the worst HoH outcome would be myself winning, as I’d have to declare intentions. Of course, I still did the best submission I could and finished second, because I couldn’t bring myself to openly throw it. Once Skywind won, I made the leap of faith and contacted him about breaking up Butters and Josh. I guaranteed him final 3 alongside Touch and me if he nominated the two of them. Touch and I waited on bated breath to see if Daboyle and Josh had gotten to him as well. Now I’m in the lead for POV with the intention of keeping the nominations the same and breaking up the pair. At that point, I only have to fear Daboyle/Josh winning POV next cycle. They would then get to cast the sole vote to evict and potentially figure out my betrayal.
