MacReady
Man, the Eagles are screwed. Jalen Hurts wasn't even in the top 10 in cap hits this year. They're going to fall apart so fast it's not even going to be funny. Deshaun Watson Patrick Mahomes (23%) Dak Prescott Kyler Murray Matthew Stafford Daniel Jones Josh Allen (19%) Derek Carr Russell Wilson Lamar Jackson (13%) Jared Goff (12.9%) Geno Smith A bunch more out of the playoffs. 20. Jordan Love (~5%) 27. CJ Stroud (~5%) 41. Baker Mayfield Less than 5% 57. Brock Purdy Less than 5 % Even if the QB market did reset and that 13% barrier has moved up, it's still not up to 19-23%. Bills and Chiefs aren't getting it done. Looks like the Bills are going to lose a fifth Super Bowl.
packfanfb
Packers @ Niners Bucs @ Lions I'd put pretty good money on the Lions advancing so the NFCCG is either going to be: Lions @ Niners, or Packers @ Lions What a story that second one would be... I think we will be traveling to tampa for nfccg I saw a Philly team that was completely dysfunctional. It would be drastic, but I'd consider moving on from Sirianni. Look at how much money they pushed into future years with massive amounts of void dollars coming. Kelce was the first to retire. He won't be the last and look at all the dead cap money that will come due shortly. Check out Kelce, Graham, Cox and Johnson. All thought about retiring last year. That is a ton of dead money, unless there is some cap move they can make because they retired. It can't get any worse." posts. As it turns out, it can actually get MUCH worse.

MacReady
After this week, only one team will be paying their QB over 13% of the cap. It’s not a myth. Only the top 3 quarterbacks in the NFL can get deep in the postseason getting paid like a top 10 QB.

Or are you also including Rodgers' dead money in there as it is devoted to the QB? Or? Is that not relevant?

It's the same wrong theory he can't let go of because of OCD or something. Counting Goff for LAR and counting Rodgers for GB is obvious, and no, he's not counting it. Addition through subtraction. You don’t have dead cap if it doesn’t improve your team by taking it. The Rams improved their team by getting rid of Goff. The Packers improved their team by getting rid of Rodgers.

I agree that every team has dead cap space, that doesn't make the cap space being eaten by it irrelevant. Saying it doesn't matter because it originates from dead cap rather than from players on the roster is just dumb, and invalidates everything you are claiming to be true about cap % devoted to the position.
