If the question was about how the Lions have been historically bad, and Goff got mad, maybe you have ground to stand on.  The reporter asked about this year.  About how there is a talent gap this year with all of the stars in SF.  Ignoring the fact that we have stars too and the current talent gap is not that big and that some of our stars are actually better than their stars.  This is not a historical question.  The reporter asked it with his "Same Old Lions" way of thinking and ignoring what is literally right in front of him.  Goff had every right to point it out and mention that maybe reporters need to reassess how they are looking at this team.  The Detroit media just was waiting for the wheels to fall off and asked questions showing that.  They are the equivalent of the guy from major League that says the Indians still suck even when they are in the world series.  I get fans and long time reporters being hesitant to accept the current reality, but its a slap in the face to the players and coaches to keep being discredited by their own media.  Even the national media was pointing out the stars on our team, yet the locals couldn't.

Locals have been inundated with mediocrity for decades: it's going to take more to impress local compared to national.

Great, but thats not their job.  Their job is to report on the team.  Being negative all the time even when things are good will not sit well.  Nobody on this team was here when we were awful other than maybe Decker.  These guys deserve their credit.  And again, if national guys are willing to see it, the locals need to wake up or they will get called out, as Goff did.  Deservingly so.

Their job as media is to drive content. Not all content is going to be positive. If they are getting clicks that's all they care about. It's just reality

And they should be called out when they dwell on negative stuff and don't report the current situation.   Thats the reality.  Yes there will be negative nancy's who can't accept the good because they have had so much bad.  But thats poor journalism and will be criticized.  And Goff has every right in the world to call them out.  You can talk bad about a specific position group thats weaker or areas the team needs to improve, but to ignore the teams All-Pro players and slap them in the face just before playing in the NFC Championship game is a good way to lose your trust with the players and your ability to put out any content.

Eh I don't think media cares about trust of athletes. Athletes come and go. Media will always be there. It's just reality of the situation. Wether right or wrong media will outlast any athlete in todays world of athletes. You won't see very many career players with one team

Eh, journalists who don't get good answers don't keep jobs.  And without access and good answers, those journalists have nothing more to write on than you and me.  There is a reason guys like Mcafee and Bar Stool get good interviews and therefore good viewership.  The players trust them not to screw them over.  If you lose that trust, you are boring.

There are plenty of crap journalists out there with their jobs. Some with major network shows. Without getting into things sensuously talk about that's a major issue with where things as a whole stand today. Crap journalists with major platforms. In and out of sports

Well call them out, like Goff did.  Because a crap journalist is one who projects 50 years of losing on the only guys that have won for their home team ignoring they have surpassed everything the journalist is projecting.  that was a crappy interview question.  Goff handled it beautifully giving the credit to his teammates.  Then when asked about it he doubled down, as he should have.  Calling out the crap, and if he keeps doing it, the Lions can force a change in beat writers.

Penei and Sun God extended day before the draft. Can the Lions pull off the hat trick?!? 👀

That would be great. Really throwing it down with draft happening in Detroit. Seems like a great stage for all this to happen
