Yeah, a KC loss there would have been straight complacency. They essentially punted their last drive away Shanahan style by running twice instead of letting Mahomes and his 11 yards an attempt win the game for them. Plus they punted on like 4th and 4 I'm Ravens territory early in the half. Not something they'd do in a more meaningful game.

Wow! Lamar over throws 2 plays and then Likely’s big toe ruins the finale lol

1st was definitely an overthrow, but it was fine. QBs are taught give their guy a chance, but put it in a place only they can get it. If they are going to miss, make sure it's high to prevent the defender from having a shot at a turnover. Could the ball have been placed better? Sure. Likely was still able to get one hand on the ball. If he had caught the ball, it would have been interesting to see what the refs and replay center would have done. Cook seemed to carry Likely out-of-bounds. The rules say if a player in possession of the ball is held up and carried out of bounds before both feet or any body part touches in-bounds, then the catch is a completion or interception.

The Flowers attempt wasn't an overthrow. It was a pass behind Flowers. But it also wasn't meant for Flowers. It was intended for Bateman.

KC was running cover-2 zone across the field. Flowers ran a corner-post directly at Cook and Cook followed him. Cook then reacted to Bateman, thinking Bateman was running a full-crossing route toward the left-corner. So Cook passed Flowers off to Reid. Bateman ended up stopping and sitting  in the endzone.

On the other side, Andrews ran a 14-yard out route directly at Reid. With Tranquil playing the goal line, essentially spying Lamar, and Reid refusing to pass Andrews to his CB on the outside, a giant space had formed between the two safeties.

Bateman's poor route run put him in a weird position. Lamar took his shot at him and missed. I think if Flowers is actually reacting to the coverage, he sits in the gap between the safeties. Instead, Flowers kept running toward the back right pylon. Monken's play design was Roman levels of bad tonight.

We will see probably by midseason just how much improved the Chiefs offense is, especially when Brown gets some games under him. But truthfully, if Kelce is on the decline and can't do what he did last postseason, then the improvements made at WR may be cancelled out with his decline. Worthy didn't do much in the pass game aside from the TD where there was a blown coverage. Rice is awesome and Brown is a good #2, but the offense may not be all that much better than it was last season. Does not mean that the Chiefs are not the favorites....because they clearly are. But the AFC playoffs is goin to be very tough for any of these teams to come out of.

Yeah, I was impressed on first viewing, but there were some real coverage miscommunications and busts that were very un-Ravens that makes it harder to evaluate. You mention Worthy's lack of touches outside of the two explosives, but his presence was really felt on how much easier things were for Kelce and Rice in the intermediate game. Everything there was grinding teeth for the Chiefs last year and they had to rely on really short touches to Rice in the screen game, running the ball, and on unreliable deep plays to folks like Valdes-Scantling. Mahomes went for 10.35 ypa rather easily and that is a better number than in any game last year. They are going to be better on offense. Can almost guarantee it.

Yea, I was just about to chime in on the exact same thing.

Worthy's speed or the threat of his speed gives more space for Kelce & Co. to operate underneath.

Even if he isn't getting targets, just his presence on the boundary has to be accounted for on every play.

It's like Ted Ginn, Jr times 10.

I mean sure, and Brown will help open stuff up in the underneath to intermediate area. Not denying that. But Kelce was an absolute machine in the first half of the Ravens game and went off against us in the 2nd half of the SB. If he's unable to take over and be that type of player, then the offense in the postseason may not be all that much better. In the regular season? They definitely will be better.

So 3 kickers were drafted in 2023 and 2 of them were already released? Ryland by the Pats and Carlson by the Packers

Moody was overdrafted but looks like the only drafted kicker worth a damn. Although Brandon Aubrey (UDFA) looks like the best K from that class so far. But he’s almost 5 years older than Moody

Don't spend high picks on kickers
