Especially Cooper, Williams, and Lloyd. Hell even rotate in Monk and Hopper for good measure. Agree, but I don't think the Love injury impacts that. You get them in there as situations dictate, get experience when it's right. Love Cooper and Williams but you gotta spoonfeed thse guys until they are comfortable with more situations. With 27 seconds and no timeouts, the odds of a TD drive were extremely low. I had pretty much given up - it would have needed a miracle. Nixon has returned TDs (albeit with different rules) so I don't the issue with him giving him a go. Re Love. Another concern with his injury is that he was pretty mediocre at best all game. This as almost certainly week 1 rust which Packers seem to specialise in. Him missing time is really not going to help him shake it off. There have to be concerns he takes multiple weeks once he is back, to get back to the level we need him at. My issue was field position and TIME. With only 30 seconds left why squander those precious seconds when your chances of running it out far were low?

Moreover I hated seeing Gary exclusively line up over Lane Johnson all night. He's your best rusher, maybe move him around a bit? Looked to me like the gameplan was to collapse the pocket to keep Hurts inside so he couldn't run. It wasn't just pin your ears back and go get him. Our DL and EDGE players really hindered what we wanted to do on defense. I think Cooper just has to see a lot more snaps after this game, get the dynamic athletes on the field. McDuffie is a high moter player but the guy shouldn't be a starter rn. Quay not figuring things out is disappointing, if you can't fill your gaps in the run game, we're going to get gashed a LOT. Though i doubt they're not going to move him anytime soon. I'm really curious to see how Hafley adjusts his defense this week. This is going to say a lot about who he is and if he can make changes week to week to make our defense better. Hopefully a lot of it is the starters not getting a lot of time in game action with the new scheme either which caused a lot of miscues in coverage. Philly has a pretty stout OL and you are probably right - it might take more time for this D to adapt to Hafley's schemes. Let's hope it won't take too long... You have a top kick returner and Love isn't returning to the game. I'd probably take my shot with Nixon than thinking Willis is taking us the length of the field. I get your thinking and normally I'd take the ball, but with Love out and a top KR, I'll take my chances with Nixon in that situation. It was in that last series he unfortunately got hurt.

I apologize.

NE, that team is scary bad. Obviously VERY early in the season, but a horrific start for Bryce Young. Danny Dimes isn't much better.

DL TJ Slaton: 42.7 McDuffie missed two tackles and gave up a touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts to Saquon Barkley. Clark had four hurries but earned terrible grades against the run. Enagbare didn’t have a pressure or a tackle over 30 total snaps. Brooks delivered a pressure and two stops but earned the team’s lowest run defense grade. Slaton had three assisted stops and a hurry but also received poor grades against the run. Not a great look for the DL. Yet another year of them getting gashed, despite being the highest-paid DL in the league this year ($66.3m active cap), & despite the scheme supposedly suiting them better. Hopefully we can just chalk it up to a strong opponent, & week 1 volatility. GB ranks #4 in front-7 active cap ($75.8m), #2 in secondary active cap ($46.7m), and #2 in total defensive active cap ($122.5m). Despite not really having many true & dependable “star” players. Lotta ballgame left. Thought there might be some growing pains on defense. However, with Love's injury, Packers can't afford for them to take half the season to figure it out.
