When I watch Ertz I just see serviceable.  He has made a couple of key catches, but I have learned not to expect much from him after the catch if it isn't wide open grass.

I am with you, I would rather see Sinnott worked in more.  No one will likely agree with me but I kind of think Bates should be the starting TE.  I think Bates gives you everything Ertz gives you as a pass catcher at this point plus he is a much better blocker.  Then I would put Sinnott in as the #2 when we have two TEs- Bates + Sinnott.  This is not a bad problem to have though as Ertz certainly isn't hurting us.

The one that really made me think it was time to see Sinnott was the deep ball to Ertz against Cleveland. I get he was overthrown but I thought a faster guy might’ve got to it. Then I watched Kurt Benkerts breakdown of Daniels performance from that game and he said the exact same thing. They need a more explosive TE for this to work. Ertz just isn’t fast enough anymore.

It’s not that I think Ertz sucks but he is absolutely washed as a receiving talent. He can run a great route and catch the ball but he’s not going to hurt a defense after the catch. I know he’s in there because he’s smart and he helps Jayden so I get it but I’d just like to see more of Sinnott. A TE that can actually do something after the catch.

Look as much as Sinnott and McCaffery have great potential. Jayden is a rookie. He’s trusts Terry and Ertz to be where he needs them to be and make him look smart. He trust Noah as well Noah has killed it sitting in zones. But most teams give rookie QB as much veteran Talent as they can so they can let the QB groom. Sinnott and Luke are doing what they need to for field reps. They will come along as the season goes as Jayden grows confidence seeing it over and over.

It’s crystal clear outside of Terry and Eckler in space. We are void of a lighting rod. Like we’re getting good use out of our zone beaters. But we need the lighting rod to remove the top. Jayden with a guy like that will just completely change the dynamic of this offense. Ideally we can find especially in this draft class a electric back to pair with BRob and a true burner over the top pass catcher.

Why aren't they working Sinnott into the plan a bit. Is he just not showing anything in practice. I keep reading too Macaffrey gets separation but J D isn't seeing it or not looking to him .

We’ve had this discussion for 15 years since Vinny drafted Fred “Smoke Dog” Davis in round 2 despite having Chris Cooley.

It’s extremely rare that you have two TEs in the game and they’re both receiving threats on plays. Almost never will you see 2 TEs on a team catch 40 plus passes for near 500 yards each.

It just doesn’t happen. There aren’t enough balls to go around.

This is a next year thing. We’re in the middle of our season where our rookie QB has built great chemistry with our veteran TE. I don’t see any scenario where it changes to Sinnott being used over Ertz a lot this year but if Sinnott really develops going into next season you could see Sinnott surpass Ertz as the #1 TE.

Don't know if you guys are aware of this incident, or have seen it.

But apparently, a Ravens fan was filmed looking for Commanders fans to fight them.

⚠️ Warning: this video is violent, but needs to be seen for those that can handle it. Be very vigilant when you guys go to these games. I don't want my fellow FF members to be involved in this atrocity.

Btw...Lamar Jackson liked this on some social media site, I never use. I saw this on a Saints forum actually & copied it. I think Jackson liked it on LinkedIn, perhaps. But maybe it was something different. You can probably find that as well, somehow.

Anyways, here's the video.

I never said anything about Terry or McCaffrey. Trusting Ertz is fine but at some point we have to get someone out there that can get YAC. I appreciate what Ertz is doing and him giving Daniels a safety net but that doesn't prevent you from getting your second round pick on the field. Plenty of teams are capable of getting more than one TE catches. Sinnott is a 2nd round pick who isn't hurt and has zero catches through 6 games of the season. I don't see how his speed and ability to run after the catch wouldn't help this offense? Its just wild that we can't even get him remotely involved.

The guy’s name is out there, and he’s been outed on all forms of social media and his job has released a statement saying that they’ve terminated him.

I will say, what Northwest/Fed Ex Field has going for it is that we’re in the middle of nowhere.  It’s a mile to get to the metro, you gotta walk quite a ways to get to the nearest restaurant.  It’s not like Baltimore, where you are in the middle of a city with places to go after the game.

I have seen a few fights at Fed Ex over the years, but nothing major usually happens.  There is enough police presence on the parking lot to ensure they can break them up easily.

This is another reason why I don’t want to see a stadium go into Washington DC.  Stuff like this will become more common.

Hey Nap..

I've never been to RFK Stadium.

Would that be an ideal place to build/rebuild/modify our new stadium regarding the location?

I know that's one of the possibilities, according to Reports I've heard & listening to Kevin Sheehan.

Or would that run the risk of this type of behavior as well?

You guys would know better than me...

The last game I went to at FedEx was our opener against the Eagles back in like 2017. My wife was pregnant at the time and two guys got into a fight right next to us. The security was great. The game was essentially over, very late in the 4th quarter and I think Kirk had just fumbled but they came and got my wife and escorted her up the stairs away from the fight. I thought that was pretty cool and then they broke up the fight.

Only issue I've ever had at Fedex was when we played the Eagles and they're fans were just awful. Was leaving the game with my dad and Eagles fans were in line trying to load onto a bus and some dude just started punching women straight in the face. It was the most bizarre thing I've ever seen. A couple of people had to restrain the guy then the cops eventually came for him.

Its pretty wild dude. I have been mad about football games but not mad enough to fight someone lol. I just get mad and then the next day I'm fine again and back on here bickering with you all.

JT is absolutely must watch every time he breaks down one of our games, and he’s doing a lot of them this year because Jayden is front page news.

This was one of my favorite ones so far, just because it was against a good opponent who didn’t just roll over like Arizona’s defense (as one example). They made us work, and for the most part, the offense delivered pretty well.

One of the things you will get a sense of in this video goes directly to a conversation that’s been happening in this thread. And it relates to Zach Ertz.

As I’ve said for a good while now, aside from QB (and maybe even including QB), I think LB and TE are the two hardest positions to walk into the NFL and play from day one. They’re the two positions that are deeply involved in all aspects of the offensive structure — run block/stop, pass block/rush, pass routes/coverage. And they’re both deeply involved in all the motion, eye candy, deception, etc. that modern offenses are employing.

To be really effective, a TE has to either be an uber-athlete or he has to be cerebral. To me, Jason Witten was always the quintessential really smart veteran TE, though obviously Kelce (and Ertz for that matter) also fit the bill.

You see so many little things with Ertz in this video. The execution of the rubs on the mesh rail to Ekeler. The little subtle rub on the TD to Terry. The way he attacks Wiggins’s leverage to separate on the crosser. The timing to let Terry clear out space for the sail — but still not give the cloud time to float back and get involved. The recognition that Jayden was hot and breaking off the route to sit down and provide an option.

This is the nuance that a veteran TE brings to a passing game. The little details that help a now-mediocre athlete frequently get open — but also help other guys get open, whether directly through picks/rubs or in an indirect fashion by carrying out the intended play design and selling whatever Kliff intended to be sold. And it’s absolutely what he’s hopefully passing along to Sinnott on a daily basis, so that in a year or two, #82 can be that critical complementary piece that #86 is right now.
