Assuming health, Jets absolute fleecing of the Raiders. Antonio Pierce fired after this season?

He should have never been given the job to begin with. Don't understand why the Raiders didn't look elsewhere.

Is that why yall spend so much time trolling the Raiders and Jets fans about their GM? You guys make it sound like Gute has never made a mistake

I never said a single word about the Raiders GM, and at no point did I ever allude to Gute being infallible. Calling those claims a reach on your end would be kind.

I absolutely am happy to gloat about how the Jets fiasco has gone so far though, given how much trolling from not just other fans but the wider media that the Packers got over that trade.

The Raiders were genuinely stuck between a rock and a hard place.  Coming into this season they absolutely needed to add a real QB to their team somehow in order for 2024 to not be a wasted season, but they didn't really do it in FA (when there was a real-honest-to-goodness QB in FA this year) or in the draft (since 6 QBs went before they were slated to pick.)  So we pretty much knew that 2024 was going to be a wasted season for the Vegas Raiders.

31 year old WRs with borderline HOF credentials don't want to be a part of a moribund season.  Davante's investment in the Raiders was pretty much ended when they decided to replace Carr with Jimmy G.

All because somebody had the idea that if we just went and got Gardner Minshew and let Jacobs go that the whole offense would be fine and Tae would be happy.

This team is so dumb. We didn't pay Nmandi cause we needed to "rebuild", we traded Mack and Cooper to "rebuild", We got rid of Carr cause we "needed to move on"...

I feel like they just haven't got the memo that when you keep getting rid of your best players, you constantly suck. I will be 0% surprised if we hear Maxx's name start coming up as well. We suck at drafting and we suck even harder at keeping the talented ones we do manage to get.

The same guy who thought we were better off without Gruden thought McDaniels was the answer and now thinks Pierce is the answer to McDaniels. Mark is just dumb.

Worse, he’s dumb and broke. All those players you list didn’t get paid because marks broke *** cant pay the escrow needed to offer those contracts.

Mark is absolutely not broke. The Raiders value has skyrocketed since the Vegas move. The big FA deals the team handed out in the offseason were front-loaded with guaranteed cash.

In Oakland, the team were legitimately cash poor (relatively speaking). 5 years of really high stadium revenues will quickly change that, though.

Now the Brady deal is done he’s even richer - because ownership stake purchases have to be paid up front and that means $780m will be winging its way towards him right about now.

As for him being dumb… yeah, I’ll give you that one.

He isn't broke but having a high net worth comprised of a ton of assets is different than being cash rich.

As soon as a player signs a deal the owner is required to place the entire amount of guaranteed money into an escrow account. Mark is obviously wealthy but he's a legacy owner, most of his net worth is based on his ownership of the team. And like half of the league's owners became rich doing something else and then decided to buy a team. IIRC like half of the owners are worth 3-4x as much as Mark.

If you look back at the very few big contracts that the Raiders have given out the # of guaranteed money is usually lower than what other teams sign guys for.
