McG- they wanted a replacement for Brown who didn't fit into the future plans and was going to be traded. Apparently a better fit for Shanahan. Pettis- GB is said to have wanted him at 45. Has the kind of skill set that Shanahan likes and will help the return game. Warner- jack of all trades LB which we need depth and better talent regardless of what happens to Foster.
