Sicario 2 has a lot of flaws, but to say the ending is odd or has a poor storyline is quite odd. It's pretty obvious from the beginning that Alejandro is Miguel's father.

Odd might have been the wrong word, how about stupid and dumb instead.

not sure what's dumb about that; seems like you're pissed you didn't realize it.

*shrug*

Pissed, no I am pissed a guy gets shot in the face and still lives from it, yeah that is so realistic.  Oh he was shot in the check then the kid comes back and says hey bro let me be the next 'Sicario'.  That is stupid regardless of who's child it is.

you think people never survive getting shot?

you missed the part where he lined up the shot to be minimal to begin with?

It almost seems unanimous that Letters from Iwo Jima is considered superior to Flags of our Fathers. I have it on my original list. I enjoyed The Bridge on the River Kwai too, but I tend to like a bit more intensity in my war films. I haven't seen Judgment at Nuremberg, so I'll have to keep an eye out for it. All Quite on the Western Front (1930) is another I need to watch.

My favourite WW1 movies is Joyeux Noel (and I need to give Gallipolli a rewatch one of these days) and if you haven't seen Memphis Belle or Twelve O'Clock High for WW2 films, both are excellent.

Currently my top list of movies I have seen.  All are quality films to see, some better than others and did divide them into genre as well lower down.  Running low on my own Netflix queue so hopefully I can get some new ones to see!     ....

A goofy movie not being on the cartoon list is blasphemy

I never liked the Max character in the film, some punk teen to the father that was suppose to be all hip and cool.  Also pretty sad the character voice Pauly Shore did was one of the funniest characters in the film and he was not in it much.  Overall I thought for the time it was pretty overrated and not a great story.

Just saw Galveston the movie, written by Nic Pizzolatto the writer of True Detective.  Was disappointed, had Ben Foster in it who is a bad to the bone, but outside of a few cool visuals it was lacking a lot.  Elle Fanning was not awful in it but based on the story was not great either.

Roma, visually it is gorgeous, very beautiful movie with wonderful screenshots throughout.  The story at times gets a little weak but overall it is a very solid film with a unique main character and overall storyline.  Amazing screen shots and camera work in the film though, really quite awesome and holds ones attention just on that alone half the time.

True Detective Season 3.  Might be jumping the gun on it, have not seen the end of it yet but so far it is freaking sweet!  Mahershala Ali is freaking awesome in it so far, and Stephen Dorff is bad to the freaking bone.  Great casting, looks to be better than the 2nd season of True Detective.  Really liked the first season especially the first 6 episodes, hopefully season 3 can end up stronger than Season 1 did.

Yesterday, kind of cheesy but a decent Romantic comedy, sure it is slightly a Beatles propaganda film but has some good parts and is unique.  Clearly is trying to introduce a new generation to that music and get some sales up for it but unique idea at least and is fun.  Oh and Lily James, what a love interest, wow!

The Wailing: Freaking sweet film, makes Parasite look like a piece of dog ****!

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood:  I did not have super high expectations but it is a damn good film, great theme and really is an interesting way to tell a story, awesome movie.

Ford V Ferrari: Another movie I was not super high on, usually do not like car movies but this film is outstanding and is wildly interesting and entertaining, should have won best picture honestly.

Judy: Does not get the attention it should, one of the best musical biographies made recently, outstanding film and amazing subject matter of course.

Bound:  First full movie made that was written by the Wachowski's who created The Matrix.  Is a sweet movie and is really quite cool, not very well known but well worth a watch.

The Chaser: Awesome movie, same director of The Wailing, is very well done and a cool story with some cool visuals as well.

Knives Out: Entertaining film and is well done, interesting story and is a unique who done it.

Breach:  Is not a great film but worth a watch, nice 3 star movie that is interesting and has a very unique story.

A Cry in the Dark: Good film, gets a little long but is a interesting story and Meryl is great in it of course.

Birds Of Prey And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn:  I did like some of the fight scenes like when she busted into the jail with the gun that shot colorful tear gas and confetti, not to mention the chase scene on the roller skates which was pretty cool.  Had funny energy and banter but the first 20 minutes was pretty lame, still had to explain all the characters no one knew anything about so it had to be done.  Was decent but the ending was lame and some of the artistic choices did not make sense but less the story.  Disappointing attempt at a gold mine character but sure they will do something again.  The Black Mask character I liked and it was surprisingly decent, with an actual plot a movie could be a lot cooler than this with Harley Quinn.

Disappointing:

Motherless Brooklyn: Sucks for Edward being the first film he directed, honestly it sucked and was quite boring seriously.  Could have been good but simply was not at all in how the story was told.

Once Upon A Time in Hollywood: Best film Quentin has ever made my ***.  Sure has some funny parts and is watchable but in no way is it his best at all.  Is way down there in terms of the best he has made.

Joker: It is a decent film but the absolute focus on a villain like that is a little disturbing.  Joaquin is good in it but obviously it is crazy dark and to normalize it like this film did is not exactly good.  Heath is a better Joker and was barely on screen compared to Joaquin, sure these Villain introspectives make money but might be a little misplaced.  I have seen it again a few times on TV and is not better the 2nd or 3rd time watching it at all.

Song to Song:  Directed by Terrance Malik, has narration just like The Tree of Life, or at least the start of it but the story is way less interesting and overall it is shocking how bad this movie is despite having great actors in it.  Awful film honestly and a waste of the use of all the actors in it.  Did not give a rip about any of the characters really and the use of music in it is nothing great either.

Parasite: It is honestly not that good at all and not worth the hype it is getting.  Anyone that would laugh about the situation in the film has a pretty sick sense of humor.  Oscar worthy film my ***, dare one to watch The Wailing and still call Parasite a better film.

One of the better films most have never seen or even heard of.  Really interesting, crazy underrated and Michael Keaton is awesome in it.  Old one back in 1993.

Awesome story, a must see film.  Fantastic movie!

Emma Watson is great in it along with Saoirse, awesome cast wonderful film!

Really good, was not sure about it but is a solid film and very interesting story.  PS Sam Rockwell is amazingly funny in it!

Very underrated movie, similar to Stranger Than Fiction another more serious comedy Will Ferrell did, Everything Must Go is solid and still a funny film as well.

Very simple film but is extremely interesting and really good, is way better than A Quiet Place I feel, super underrated.

Pretty solid film, is very weird and strange but is very interesting and Martin Sheen is great in it and super creepy.  A few odd choices in music a few times that breaks the mood of the movie but is a interesting watch for sure.

Is a lot better than I thought, has some good drama aspects to it and is still funny and entertaining.  Very surprised the film was sold, well worth a watch.

I will list some of my favorite movies that perhaps not everyone has seen

Wet Hot American Summer.

One of the greaest comedies ever made, and if you like comedies in this particular style, it does it perfectly. Also, one of the best montage scenes in history

Super(2010)

Directed by James Gunn, and this was before the glut of super hero movies, and was one of the first to do a 'realistic' portrayl. Dwight from the office totally nails this role. He does a great job and proves that hes more than just Dwight. Kevin Bacon is great as the villain.

Pitch perfect tone here, and love Nathan Fillian in a small role here thats hilarious

Cannibal: The Musical.

The first thing Trey and Matt ever did is still my favorite. They made this movie in film school.

Its has some funny moments, good heart,  catchy songs, and its just wonderfully cute movie. Oh yeah, some blood and violence too!

Return of the Living Dead

Best zombie movie ever made. Great pacing, and escalation of scenes.

people are acting really scared in this movie and they are panicking, talking over each other etc, and everyone is playing it completely straight, which is perfect for a black comedy, which this very much is

The Breaks

Mitch Mullany (RIP) knocks it out of the park here.

This is a silly comedy but very damn funny and you care about the characters.

Ready or Not

My favorite movie of 2019. Its just so damn fun, and Samara Weaving nails it.

Just a perfect black comedy tone because the movie plays it serious which makes certain scenes funnier.

Bone Tomahawk

A western with horror elements.

Very deliberately paced(not boring), but the ending is a powerhouse and makes the movie unforgettable.

casting nails it

I love Lili Simmons delivery in this movie.

Matthew Fox and Kurt Russell are excellent and Richard Jenkins plays a different type of role than usual but its wonderful

My mother saw this movie as an adolescent and, obviously identifying with a young Jodie Foster, truly hated Martin Sheen's character. To the point where to this day she still hates the man in real life and won't watch anything he's in.

Bone Tomahawk is a great movie, not a huge fan of the Alien vibe and strange things that happened later in the movie, wish that was completely out of the film and not included but still very cool and interesting movie.  I will have to rent Ready or Not, was not a fan on the surface watching the trailer, but I liked Knives Out but I seriously doubt Ready or Not is as good, but maybe worth a watch.  Also has that vibe of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, PS Lily James is absolutely gorgeous and the main reason to watch that movie but clearly people like gore and if they can make a gory film with different wardrobe usually they do it.

I have never seen Return of the Living Dead, might have to give that a try but looks pretty damn cheesy.

Going to have to get We Hot American Summer, looks pretty damn funny.

Yeah some hate Martin Sheen without ever seeing this movie as well, he is a easily hatable type guy ;o)

Martin Sheen is an absolute *** in The Incident which is an amazingly interesting film but yeah he is a **** head in that.  Was a **** in Badlands, jerk in The Dead Zone if I remember so it is a common character for him.  In that one with Jodie Foster though he was as good as he has been in any movie I have seen with him, great creepy character.
