^ aside from Doctson, Crowder, Richardson, and Quinn.. I am excited to see what the others can do to earn a spot as the 5th (and 6th?) wideout on the September roster. Seems like a lot of real talent yet to be pro-level proven.

( and yeah, that can still be said about most of the aforementioned 4 )

In the end.. is this roster full of second tier talent WRs? any first tier? some far far less than 2nd tier?

—Good throw and catch from Smith and Richardson in the back of the end zone. Richardson was on the back line and well covered by Orlando Scandrick. Smith put the ball high where only the receiver could catch it. Richardson made the catch presumably with both feet in; we couldn’t quite see from where we were sitting but a bunch of defenders lined up near the play did not object, a sign that it was a TD.

—Alex Smith is on target today. He has been hitting  at least 90 percent of his passes.

—In red zone work, Smith fired a pass into the gut of Jeremy Sprinkle, who was just over the goal line. The QB ran up and tapped the tight end on the helmet and patted his shoulder. Smith is the master of the low-key celebration.

other notes: Foster got dinged and didn't get put back in, but also didn't need medical attention. MInor shoving match b/w  Flanigan and Diggs. Harris shows off great catch. Hogan continues to suck.

Doctson has a chance to be a 1st tier WR but he hasn’t gotten there yet. His rookie year in 2016 he was injured most of the year with sore achillies and even if he had been healthy he would’ve been stuck behind Garçon and DJackson. So last year was basically like a rookie year for him.

If Jordan Reed is healthy, he’s a top tier receiver in the middle of the field. He doesn’t have the speed of wide receivers but he runs routes better then most receivers. His ability to get open off of route running is special.

Just read Kyshoen Jarrett is doing an apprenticeship type thing at camp-- to determine is likes coaching--good to hear it . Loved that kid.

Also, Gruden said LB Pete Robertson has "flashed". Very athletic . Someone to watch.
