You have a hard time believing a weapon designed to kill dragons, that we watched break through dragon bone, could kill a dragon because why?

The Night King has magic powers and Qyburn literally had to invent an entirely new weapon to take down a dragon. It took Qyburn a whole 2 weeks to invent and mass produce that weapon, which is literally just a crossbow firing super powerful bolts. Idk, it just seems like they really went in on the whole "Damn she's got Dragons we're screwed!" thing and are now bailing on that to make the playing field more even. If this show has done anything consistent from day one, it's indicate that classical norms mean squat with this lot of folks. Hell, she could return to Storm's End and train a friggin' army of assassins there while being married to Gendry still. Any examples of that in show? Let's just give everyone something that doesn't make sense for the character. Jon could restart the Faith of the Seven and become the next High Septon. Dany could give up her titles and roam the lands as a jester. Arya getting married would be the worst decision the show makers have ever made.

He showed it off in S7E2. and no, it’s not “literally just a crossbow”. It’s - historically speaking - one of the biggest war changing weapons in human history.

While I was doing the math on how fast a dragon could fly and weather birds could replace the post office, I figured out that sabermetrically any 8,000 year old necromancer has a fair bit of tissue damage in his magic ice body with all that time. You'd expect him to throw knuckle balls only at this point. Edited May 6, 2019 by ramssuperbowl99

It’s - historically speaking - one of the most war changing weapons in human history. That was the prototype, which they had ONE of, and it didn't really work. D&D explained after this episode that Qyburn went back and redesigned the new Scorpions and outfitted all of King's Landing and Euron's fleet with them. Two weeks is obviously hyperbole, but it took him basically no time to manufacture and mass produce "one of the most war changing weapons in history" - something that was never thought of before during the age of Dragons? Dude is probably the smartest guy alive then tbh My point here is that the dragons aren't the threat they were originally made to be, and it seems the show is killing them off to avoid having to admit that, rather than go down the path of the dragons wrecking everything in King's Landing. The weapon eventually became of mainstay of the Roman Empire, but after its collapse, many resulting kingdoms lacked the means for its upkeep. Not really unbelievable that Westeros could have feasibly never had one before this time.

So you’re being absolutely ridiculous with this critique.
