He was one of the best safety prospects to come out of Alabama. Redskins fans know him and know how well he's played against the Redskins since the Giants drafted him. If Collins comes in here and plays at a near all pro/pro bowl level then he’ll help the team win games which, in turn will help sell tickets. Just bc he’s not a flashy QB or WR doesn’t mean that he won’t help sell tickets. Most Redskins fans wanted Collins drafted out of Alabama in 2015, they haven’t forgotten about him. Collins wanted to come to DC and the Redskins fans wanted him. I don’t think this is a usually safety signing. He’s no a nobody. People know him, they've wanted him in a Redskins uniform since 2015 and most Redskins fans are elated to have him. It’s mostly only the curmudgeons in this forum who are complaining about this move.
