Rockice_8 Posted October 23, 2018 Share Posted October 23, 2018 We were desperate with all the injuries. Can't have Sam throw to bad WR's (Peake/Roberts) and new UDFA's (Burnett). They pretty much caused 2 of his 3 INT's against MIN not to mention like 4-5 drops. While he's far from mentally fragile can't go on a long streak of poor games because of bad WR talent. Not good for a young QB development. Needs vets that know where to be. Great temporary solution by the Jets without wasting future assets like picks. Bobby816 Posted October 23, 2018 Share Posted October 23, 2018 Not expecting much from this signing. But quite frankly we need him. We are very thin at WR right now, so we're pretty desperate. I know the way he left Tennessee was bad, but hopefully a change in scenery can help Darnold groom. Matthews doesn't have any future in NY besides giving us some depth until we get a couple guys back.
