He spoke about it on some podcast according to a random person on reddit. I'd lol if Clinton-Dix re-signed with the Packers and completely changed his attitude under a new head coach. I still believe you can do a lot worse than Clinton-Dix. You don't get 14 interceptions and 5.5 sacks in 5 years by sucking.

packfanfb
Did Branch stand up much as a rusher? Only had 1.5 sacks last year but had 4.5 and 5.5 the years before that. Another potential bargain-get at EDGE if we want to go that route.

Perry is probably getting restructured or cut. Matthews would become a situational pass rusher at 4-6 million per. Fackrell and Farrell would be just fine. You're not getting any better than Perry/Matthews/Fackrell in free agency unless you want to spend 15 million per. If you think otherwise, you're wrong. Nick Perry (in 2017) re-signed for a little over 11 million per. When he signed the deal, the salary cap was 155 million. The cap has risen literally 33 million dollars since he signed. Eleven million was considered a hometown discount when he signed it. That's Nick Perry, who had all of a single season where he was healthy and had over 6 sacks. Ezekiel Ansah? Is the Nick Perry of Detroit. Will cost more than Perry, is as inconsistent as Perry and 9 of his 12 sacks two years ago came against three teams. He is a great way to dump money and get nothing in return. Wake is a decent one year option. Clowney is a rich man's Nick Perry who doesn't play through injuries and has had his effort questioned his entire career. He's going to get paid a very large amount of money and will not be worth half of it. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/all/edge/ Just look for yourself. There is no savior there. There are third string pass rushers, pass rush specialists or players who are going to get paid 15 million per for a good contract year performance. People are talking about Clowney like he's some super duper incredible EDGE. That really isn't the case. The only option for a legitimate 3-4 year answer at EDGE is a TRADE or DRAFT. Everything else will be an extreme overpay. Every time I get into this topic, I always ask for somebody to tell me the last time one of these big EDGE contracts was worth it. I never get a response. You want to go after that Wake/Suggs player and I am right there with you, but if a young (under 30) pass rusher hits free agency, it is because the team they are leaving knows something we don't. The only reason Peppers was cut was because the Bears had somehow gotten themselves into a tricky cap situation. The only value you're getting at that position is through players the league perceives as being done and out of gas and getting lucky with a little bit left in the tank after all. Unless you are bonkers (like Gruden), or in cap hell, you don't give up good edge rushers, or OTs, or...........well you get the picture.

First, you need to quit blaming Gruden for Mack. Gruden wanted Mack back. Their GM got fired. You think that's a coincidence? Gruden absolutely wanted Mack back, and if you think otherwise, you don't know Gruden. Second, the Raiders didn't let Mack go. They got the highest compensation for a defensive player in NFL history. You think Mack would ever in a thousand million years hit the open market? No.

No. Not saying you’re wrong, but didnt mack say that gruden never once reached out to him to let him know he wanted him to stay in oakland, and that it would have made a difference for him if gruden had done that? No. My feeling was that Chucky is in charge of everything there. I don't think Mayock will have anything to do with final say on the roster. Therefore I think the loss of Cooper and Mack was all Gruden, and i also think McKenzie's sacking was about Gruden establishing complete control. Sure they got good compensation for both of their major losses, but no team that is even halfway efficient should be letting guys like that go. that is why i called Gruden 'bonkers'. MacReady
I'm expecting more tags for pass rushers, too. Turning second tiers into first tier money and so on.

He still covered OK and made plays on the ball but any physicality left. Probably trying to preserve himself for what he was expecting to be a big pay day. If that bridge isn't burned and he came reasonably priced I'd welcome it. So long as he's not in his "not going to tackle" mode.
