The time of the "in-the-box" safety that cannot cover is coming to the end. Yes, you need two safeties, but you realistically need two that can cover.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe my friends who are Giants' fans are wrong, and Collins can cover players. Even so, this is an incredible amount of money to throw at a player at a position that was effectively the cheapest of any position on defense (only specialists and tight ends had lower franchise and transition tag numbers; remember, those represent the top of the market). Collins' deal just catapulted way above that number.

Ok so now teams dont need a SS to make tackles, help the run defense, can blitz, can hit hard, and can cover 10 to 15 yards from the line of scrimmage.

Alot of people once Kirk got his deal said they should've gave him his 84 guaranteed, but we have the QB who took the Vikings to its last playoff win.

Crowder   = 3yrs 28m ($17m guaranteed)

Not gonna get 2020 comp picks.

Thai is a sad panda.

Need to see how the Preston Smith deal turns out. But not getting high value picks, that's for sure.

At the price of $84M, $45M guaranteed? No, they don't.

I'm sure we'll retain Smith for a $60 mil deal and make my nightmare offseason complete.

They love for Preston Smith makes zero sense to me? It has to be people overvaluing PFF rankings because we’ve watched every snap of his career and I don’t think any of us believe he was good lol

Guess we'll agree to disagree on the idea that a guy who plays in the secondary will impact the game that much.

Yet the greatest Secondary Player played here and wore 21 and we know the impact he had on the Defense. Not saying Landon is Sean, but you get what I mean. I stand by my statement Collins will help make the Defense better.

I mean, Darrell Green?

Besides that.  Sean Taylor's best season was when he was moved from SS to FS because he was dominant in coverage.

Another guy we were supposed to easily be able to replace and celebrated not re-signing.

You can't just replace Speed like that. They thought they had it in Crowder than it was suppose to PRich. I would've tried to Jackson back. He could've been a easy replacement for Crowder.

I didn’t think Taylor ever played SS here?

Jackson didn’t want to come back. He went where he wanted to go and I respect that. He was always an Eagle and it was weird to see him on the Redskins even though I loved it.
