This is my first time after playing standard fantasy football for the past 7 years. Im struggling to figure out what is considered a competitive amount to put in for a waiver claim. The budget is $100. 16 weeks of football. That's 6.25 to spend per week. So basically if I drop $12 on one player that essentially 2 weeks of my budget. Also it means if I treat that as a pretend maximum spending amount I would give myself 8 opportunities throughout the season to make successful $12 bids. It seems like a reasonable guideline to work from, no? In my experience the best fantasy players on the waiver wire tends to be snapped up early on in the season so logically it makes sense to put in larger bids early on as you're unlikely to get quality players later in the season. What's the point saving all that money if there isnt anyone worth spending the money on. I would like to put in a bid for Cohen. I've currently put in $11. Is that a competive bid or is that way too high/low? My current thinking is he's a situational/3rd down back in rotation with Howard which limits his upside and doesn't warrent the kind of bid which Kerwynn Williams is likely to get as a starting RB. If everyone focuses on him then maybe I could get Cohen a little cheaper. Also people (in theory) tend to pay in multiples of 5.
