Calvin Johnson is a first ballot hofer; change my mind

Recommended Posts

We can agree to disagree. I just like seeing you get fired up. I know the difference. Yes, it is my OPINION he is.

If youre saying, me saying he is worthy of it is an opinion, youre wrong.  Thats a fact and there isnt even a real argument against it.

That’s still an opinion, dude.

Not first ballot but maybe second or third try.  Not saying hes not worth it but receivers usually never go in the 1st try

Absolutely.  55,000+ yards over 350 tds 2 superbowls 2 superbowl mvps.  No brainer

Only Moss and Rice were better WRs than him. He should. I bet he could come back now and put up better numbers than any WR in the league just about.

Besides Rice and Moss, he’s the most dominant receiver I’ve ever watched. If he doesn’t get in on his first try then the whole process is pretty stupid.

Excelled with Joey Harrington and Matt Stafford (who constantly got him killed over the middle) there should be no question about this

He didn't do enough to continue his career, choosing instead to quit instead of get his way out of Detroit in a pouting move and thus has no accomplishments of any significance whatsoever when it comes to winning.  Only argument against HOF.

Calvin never played with Harrington, sorry. He did have Jon Kitna though, which is close.

There were also injury concerns, he had a bad ankle. Retiring because you dont want a wrecked body shouldn't be held against a guy imo
