ramssuperbowl99 Posted September 25, 2018 Author Share Posted September 25, 2018 One other part of this game that is getting zero publicity: Jack Flaherty 2 times through the order: 18 BF (obviously), 5 IP, 4 H, 1 R/ER, 0 BB, 5 K. Was basically money except for the homer to Braun. Jack Flaherty 3rd time through the order: 4 BF, 0.1 IP, 0 H, 2 BB, 1 HBP. The only out he got was a would-be double from Cain that Gyorko made a great play on. The Cardinals didn't have the luxury of pulling Flaherty "early", and had to pay the 3rd time through the order penalty. He had a blister so it was way worse than it otherwise might have been, but the Cardinals' lack of bullpen depth essentially gifted us 2 runs in a game we won by 2.
