brooks1957
I envision this signing as a depth signing maybe - possible PR as well. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2850519-browns-news-ex-texans-eagles-wr-braxton-miller-signs-contract
brooks1957
Did not realize this was already added added in another forum. If mods want to delete/merge - go for it.
LETSGOBROWNIES
He won’t make it past cuts IMO.
MWil23
He will get cut for sure. WR, especially slot, is loaded. Unless he's a true difference maker ala Duke out of the backfield and slot in mismatch situations as a hybrid RB/WR, he won't make the team. I'm the biggest Braxton fan on the planet and will always be thankful for what he did at OSU. If he doesn't get injured, his college/NFL careers probably have different arcs, but injuries took their toll, and that's an unfortunate reality.
candyman93
Maybe they want him as a return guy?
LETSGOBROWNIES
Apparently Ratley came back and looks pretty damned good (CBD Podcast) Edited August 21, 2019 by LETSGOBROWNIES
sdrawkcab321
He’s a terrible returner. And we have like 7 of them anyway.

brooks1957
One other point to look at. We play a very mobile, scattergun armed QB twice a season in Lamar Jackson. Braxton is a similar QB, so could this signing be for scout team purposes?

Not much of anything, so it never hurts to kick the tires. Dorsey seems to like raw talent and isn’t afraid to bring those guys in for a look. Cant fault the logic.

We cut some 5th string TE before we signed him so it’s not like we’re looking for great talent at this point. Just camp bodies.
brooks1957
Now if Braxton is just as good ON THE FIELD as the last Browns WR to wear this jersey number....
Tomahawk
He isn't making the team. We are already going to be cutting very good WRs
sdrawkcab321
Is he practice squad eligible? Could be a good scout team Lamar Jackson
brooks1957
If he is, that would explain the signing. But I think you can only have 2 accrued seasons of service to remain ps eligible. 6 games on an active roster counts as an accrued season of service.
