Knowledge
As bad as a signing this was for the 49ers it hasn't hurt them one bit with the immergence of Breida

It's the same injury from last year. He hasn't been able to recover.

Two backs ahead of him are way better. Why not cut him?

Costs 4m more to cut him than to keep him on the roster. His base salary was fully guaranteed in April.

This isn't a new injury or anything - its the same injury from last year that he just keeps having setbacks with. So maybe it's just going to take more time or something. Not sure. At this point, I would be concerned about long term health outside of football. Probably more surgery in his future and a lot more rehab. Its unfortunate but he has struggled significantly to get and stay healthy.

He will likely never take a regular season snap for the 49ers at this point. That's how you win super bowls. That's a shame. He was a good, versatile back when he was in Minnesota. Sorry to hear it has gone that way for you guys with McKinnon.

The loss of McKinnon isn't big or anything as Coleman could do a lot of the things he could do in the passing game and Breida is the best runner of the bunch. But the signing is going to end up looking atrocious as we will have paid this man damn near 20M for him to take a grand total of zero snaps for the team. About the only way you can look at it is that it happens to every team once in a while and it's just a cost of doing business. It's lousy when it happens, but it's part of owning or being a fan of an NFL team.
TecmoSuperJoe
Seems like a couple of the guys the 49ers have overpaid for that fans weren't on board with have proven why fans weren't on board with them. I'm afraid Kwon Alexander is next.
