titans0021
If we’re going to have threads for Marcus, Vrabel and Robinson, we should have one for Smith, especially since the majority of the next few days of a GDT and a lot of the Vrabel thread is just Smith talk anyways. titans0021
One thing that has kind of been lost in all of the QB talk is that Henry is under four yards per carry and had the second fewest yards before contact in football heading into yesterday, so he’s probably at the bottom now. titans0021
Going to move this here: These are the scheme issues that will ruin the offense regardless of who is at QB. Why is that WR in the flat? Why is that WR in the flat? Why is that WR in the flat? The entire play design is to hit the TE in space or to have the 12-yard crosser come open, or even have Mariota run. That WR in the flat guarantees an extra defender will be present for all of those options, hell the first read (the TE) is running straight into the defender that was brought into the play by the receiver in the flat
deeluxx3
he's an awful offensive coordinator and should be fired for the abysmal job he's done that's all I have to say about Art Smith
titans0021
I seriously don’t know if I’ve ever seen that bootleg to the TE in the flat ever have a WR sitting on the outside at the LOS. I don’t even know how that play exists.

titans0021
I’m just so tired of hearing coaches talk about how they want power to be one of the key identities of the team. This offense is slow. Davis and Brown are strong receivers with good enough speed, but certainly aren’t deep threats. Henry might be the fastest player on the offense. Humphries is just an underneath guy. Dion Lewis is deceptively slow. We have Darius Jennings, who isn’t actually all that fast, getting offensive reps as a deep threat. We have our receivers running, on average, some of the deepest routes in the league but we don’t have receivers capable of creating separation downfield without scheming them open. Which is another failure of the coaching staff.

Think they flashed something on the screen in the Broncos game that Henry/Titans leads the league by quite a bit for runs for a loss. I think we’re in the high 40s for runs for a loss. The thing with Henry is, if you get him in the backfield he’s pretty much useless. He can’t make anybody miss before his momentum starts. titans0021
Again, I’m past the point of caring if we bench Marcus, but these plays are just so simple, they might as well just be taken from a generic Madden playbook. Draw up three different routes, have your receivers run them, move onto the next play and do it again. There’s no deception, there’s no overall scheme, there’s seemingly no thought put into what routes mesh with each other. We have slower receivers and just have them isolated. There’s just nothing to work with.

There’s just nothing to work with. Which is probably why we saw Tannehill still get sacked. It's a horrible offense. Is Marcus play more a symptom of this trash rather than the cause. Because if we don't change no QB this year or next will succeed.
