You can build a smart plan that’s also conservative. We just didn’t. We ran two jet sweeps for 21 yards against a defense that was crashing the middle every play to stop Taylor. A jet sweep isn’t an aggressive call, it’s a simple one. The motion can help take eyes off JT and you can punish defenders for attacking inside. But we didn’t run our first one until we’ll into the second half, they worked well both times, and we just wouldn’t keep running it. When we saw the line not getting any push, there were zero adjustments made. We just kept with the read option look out of the gun that has been our worst running play all year. This is the players fault plain and simple. Chryst sucked, but what you call when you're the vastly superior team shouldn't matter as much as it did today. Taylor and Coan crapped the bed in the clutch and the defense wasn't even good in the second half, let alone elite like it's been. The game was lost by the OL. Every 5-8 years we'll have a championship worthy team that will have to and the other years we'll be 9-3 or 10-2.
