Shanedorf
here's a couple of notes on Ibraheim Campbell from last year via Ben Fennell Ibraheim Campbell Young safety Ibraheim Campbell was signed in early November as a contingency plan for trading away Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. Campbell saw considerable action Sunday, playing 53 snaps on defense and another 25 on special teams. Mike Pettine is familiar with Campbell. Pettine was head coach of the Cleveland Browns when he drafted Campbell in the fifth round in 2015. Campbell had his ups and downs to build off. I absolutely loved to see a safety fly downhill and wrap up a ball carrier with solid form tackling (something we haven’t seen from Packers safeties over the past few seasons). https://cdn.theathletic.com/app/uploads/2018/11/27212705/3-Campbell-Tackle.mp4

They played a dud game last week ... move on. because the defense has been playing terrible since the Eagles game. KC - Would have Mahomes back. They made Moore look like a pro bowler. Imagine what Mahomes would do... Vikes: Their offense is clicking finally, they are the more balanced team on offense and defense. Cowboys: See 2nd half of that game.
Leader
Matt Schneidman: Packers safety Adrian Amos (hamstring) had been the only DNP due to injury this week, but he returned to practice on Friday. He’s participating in position drills now, too. TE Robert Tonyan (hip) was not participating for the first time this week, however. He’s on the bike now. //////////// What happened to Tonyan anyway? He dislocate his hip or something as he's been out for a long time if only a bruise. Edited November 8, 2019 by Leader

Vikings are overrated ... that will become relevant as season goes on. Cowboys have been tough team to beat and we did it there. Not sure what you're so upset about? Again, yes, defense has to play better.

Shanedorf
from PanthersWire The Panthers offensive line doesn’t get enough credit for their run blocking. Pass protection is another story but in the Ron Rivera era they have usually been strong in this area. McCaffrey has gotten several huge runs of 50+ yards because huge holes are opening up for him. Greg van Roten made the key block last week but it might be somebody else Sunday. Norv Turner has also done an excellent job calling creative run plays. Kyle Allen is a respectable option for a backup QB but the idea he’s better than a healthy Newton is silly. The team is 5-1 with him because of McCaffrey and a great pass rush. Allen is not the reason they’re winning. He will miss reads and too many of his passes are inaccurate. Allen was exposed by the 49ers front line some, but he usually doesn’t get rattled easily. The 90-yard drive he led to end the first half against the Titans was easily his best of the year. He has also cleaned up his early fumble issues, so he’s trending in the right direction. Shanedorf
Starting safety Adrian Amos (hamstring) is back to practice today That gives GB Amos, Savage, Campbell and Redmond at Safety, with Tramon available for spot duty 3 vets and 2 youngsters going into Sunday
Shanedorf
Film notes via PackersWire Running back Christian McCaffrey is a tough little guy, but it’s his multiplicity that makes him dangerous. He has good speed (4.48 40-yard dash), but he’s dynamic not because of his speed but due to his ability to stop on a dime. Defenders must maintain disciplined pursuit angles on McCaffrey. The Panthers will move interior defensive tackles outside on obvious running downs. Their edge defenders in passing situations – Bruce Irvin and Brian Burns – both lack the mass to hold the point. Rookie quarterback Kyle Allen is very much a rhythm, pocket passer. He’s mobile enough, but running isn’t his game. He’s comfortable in the pocket insofar as his target early in the progression springs open. McCaffrey and tight end Greg Olsen are his top targets. His accuracy can be erratic at times, especially throwing to smaller receivers like Curtis Samuel and D.J. Moore out on the perimeter. Speaking of receivers, Curtis Samuel (No. 10) began as a gadget speedster. Now in Year 3, Samuel has developed into the traditional wide receiver, but it will be his speed that gets him to win. Expect to see him as the receiver in jet or orbit motions across the formation. Samuel torched Titans corner Malcolm Butler on a double move in the red zone. His speed must be respected. D.J. Moore, the Panthers’ first-round pick last year, is a smooth route runner with plenty of speed and agility. The Panthers like to get him the ball on bubble screens. Shanedorf
one more Rookie outside linebacker Brian Burns was a nonentity against left tackle Taylor Lewan. He’s fast and quick; he dips and bends well for a guy with his length. Tackles may have been figuring out his game to a degree, however. In each of the past two weeks, Burns didn’t record a single stat. Last week, Lewan handled Burns’ movement well. The Panthers try to keep him in for obvious passing situations but also try to play a more traditional 4-3 with run-stopping personnel on early downs
Leader
Zach Kruse - Red-zone defense could decide the game Sunday. Neither defense is stopping anyone. Yards allowed per play since Week 5: Panthers: 6.2 (27th) Packers: 6.8 (31st) Red-zone TD percentage allowed: Panthers: 69.2 (32nd) Packers: 48.3 (6th)
Shanedorf
Packers pathetic punt return woes via The Athletic They have minus-8 total punt return yards through nine games. Their longest punt return went for a single yard. They are averaging minus-1.3 yards per punt return. Only once in the past 37 years of the NFL’s 16-game regular season did a team finish with fewer than 100 total punt return yards. The 2015 San Diego Chargers had 84. The Cardinals hold the record for fewest punt return yards in a single season, with 27 in 1965, when they were based in St. Louis. The 2019 Packers are on pace to finish with minus-14. ...more often than not it hasn’t been the returner’s fault (other than Shepherd’s ill-advised return that became a lost fumble), nor is it the blockers’ fault. It’s more in the way the Packers are aligned to prevent a fake punt that makes it difficult to generate a substantial return Edited November 8, 2019 by Shanedorf

With regards to an earlier post, hopefully Rodgers can take advantage of the defense when they go heavy to stop the run, and Aaron Jones can punish them when Burns comes in. McCaffrey will get yardage when the Panthers are on offense, but I have a good feeling about this game.

That return yardage is nothing but pathetic. The ST units of other teams both stop fake punts and get return yardage. That we - supposedly - have to surrender the return yards to prevent a trick play..........
