seminoles1
With a max offer on the table from Minnesota, Andrew Wiggins suddenly decided to drop his agent. Weird timing.

They aren't trained in reading contracts and negotiating for a living. Set amount as a max or not, having someone who specializes in contract negotiations is important. kempus
This has been a fantastic offseason. So many game changing moves. Probably more interesting than the actual season will be

Not only that but agents help them with endorsement opportunities, financial services, marketing, public relations, are their baby sitters, etc.

As for the marketing opps and what not, you can handle that separately. For example, LeBron's marketing and stuff is all done by Mav Carter and RWTW. Way too big of a hastle to have different people working on different efforts with 0 to little cohesion. Creates chaos at times. Hell, agents hate when players even have a publicist. Just too many cooks in the kitchen.
MookieMonstah
Yeah but with an agent he's taking generally, what? 5-7%? If not more? Totally with CAS22. If you're going to get a max deal, zero reason to have an agent.

Just watch "Broke".
MookieMonstah
No, I agree with that. Get a marketing guy, get a financial advisor but an agent for a guy to sign a max deal? Come on. Thats the easiest money that agent will ever make, like a guy like Curry has absolutely zero need for an agent.
